about his role in waging war against the people of the United States. This is the only specific reference I found:

AFTER A FIVE-DAY TRIP to Africa, I returned to the White House on July 14, 2003, for my final day of work. A controversy raged over the accuracy of a claim the President had made in his State of the Union address concerning Iraq's efforts to obtain uranium from Africa. For more than forty-five minutes, the press and I enjoyed our last clash, and then I was asked if I had any final thoughts to share.

Taking Heat page 362

Hero Joe Wilson publishes "What I Didn't Find in Africa" on July 6, 2003.
Scooter Libby sits Ari Fleischer down to "lunch" on July 7, 2003.
Robert Novak outs Valerie Plame on July 14, 2003.

1. While it wouldn't help convict Scooter ...
.... I must admit that I'd enjoy seeing Scooter's lawyers catch Ari perjuring himself.

3. I actually think Ari is telling the truth. He has imunity and no reason
to lie. Scooter however, seems to get closer and closer each day to being convicted of purgery. The other one who is looking more & more guilty is Cheney. .artin's testimony yesterday sure didn't help him, and neither did Ari today.

I'll be curious to see what little miss Judy has to say tomorrow! I doubt she'll lie because I think she realizes she's way out of her league in dealing with Fitz!

4. Ari can't lie on the stand ...
If he's caught perjuring himself, or saying anything contrary to what he has already stated to the prosecution before being called, his immunity deal is automatically null and void. I doubt that's a chance he's willing to take.

2. Jan 28, 2003 - Bush utters the 16 words. May 19, 2003 Ari submits resignation.

And in between, Joe Wilson began to circulate his refutation of Bush's Niger claims. Evidentally, there was knowledge in Washington of Wilson's rejection of the 16 words prior to his NYT columnn of July 6, 2003.

Might it be possible that Ari submitted his resignation in order to separate himself from the (developing) WH conspiracy to discredit Wilson? Did Ari not want to see himself swept-up within the conspiracy?
