"I apologize but this president is a total bust.
I don't even feel like voting for anybody anymore. You guys totally blew it with your total lack of leadership.
I am your base, and you lost me. Good luck with your friends on Wall Street."
Tried to keep it short.
Sorry but that's how I feel.
I am going to remove my Democratic affiliation and switch to Independent. I don't even want to vote in the primaries.

5. Get used to it. It won't be so funny in the coming elections |
|
The OP speaks for a lot of Dems who supported Obama in the last election. What we are seeing now is not what was promised. It's becoming obvious that no party cares about the middle class or the common person. Just those who funnel them money.

12. I agree with your sentiments, but... |

this is EXACTLY what was promised. Throughout the primaries, throughout the general election, Obama announced his intention to be as conciliatory and bipartisan as possible. It made me bristle every time he said it.
And once again, centrist Democrats will learn the wrong lessons -- not that they should have LED, not that they should have boldly stood up for principle, not that they should have expressed a clear vision rather than haggling bureaucratically, they're going to go home with the idea that they need to swing more to the right.

I just rec'ced this post and in doing so, the count dropped from +2 to +1.
A whole lot of people are in for some real surprises on the next several election days, aren't they? They seem to think that if they plug their ears and sing "LA-LA-LAAAA-LA!" at the top of their lungs (or un-rec the unpleasant posts), that somehow their clay- footed heroes will be re-elected, but I don't think it works that way.

This was my unsubscribe message:
Until the Democratic Party starts representing the people instead of corporate interests, I'll support individual Progressive candidates. Oh, and Obama's education plan? Right. He’s just giving free reign to the corporations to privatize education with no input from TEACHERS. LISTEN TO THE TEACHERS! We're the ones who know how to educate, not some basketball pal of Obama's who has NEVER taught a day in his life and hasn't a clue. Maybe it's Obama who hasn't a clue. Anyway, when you've lost me, you've lost the nation. Oh, and stop trying to negotiate with the Republicans. They aren't going to play ball and they're having a good laugh at Obama's expense and naiveté.

14. I am just as angry, and my unsubscribe message is similar. |

Nevertheless, I will be voting in all primaries. In Texas, I can vote in the Democratic primaries without registering as a Democrat, but if I had to register as a Democrat I would. I'm not giving to the DNC, DSCC, or DCCC, but I am still giving to individual candidates and I will *never* sit out an election.
