Limbaugh says he knows what O'Keefe was doing @ Landrieu's office |
|
Edited on Thu Jan-28-10 05:03 PM by sabra
http://www.rushlimbaugh.com/home/daily/site_012810/content/01125107.guest.htmlWhat's Behind O'Keefe Story?BEGIN TRANSCRIPT RUSH: I wanted to comment on this strange story. James O'Keefe and another guy got caught in Mary Landrieu's office, and the original report in the Washington Post said that... O'Keefe is the guy who with the girl did the BigGovernment.com videos that blew the top off the ACORN scams. He was in there, and got caught in the phone room, and the Washington Post reported what he was doing was bugging the phone lines of Mary Landrieu. Then the police said, "No, no, no, that's not what he was doing. We don't quite know what he was doing, but he was not bugging it." I'll tell you what he was doing. I know exactly what he was doing.
These people have turned off their phones, or they're redirecting calls from constituents to go somewhere to a dead line, and then they're saying, "Our phones are jammed. Nobody can get through. We don't know what's wrong." I bet you... I don't know this. I'm just speculating. But I'll bet you O'Keefe and his buddy who posed as telephone repairmen were in there to try to find out if somebody had jimmied with the lines so that constituents could not call the office and complain. 'Cause remember, during amnesty a couple summers ago, nobody had trouble getting through, and the members of Congress (House and Senate both) got fed up with it. But it was enough to convince everybody not to vote for it.
It was put together behind closed doors, just like the Senate was. I've always... During the August recess and during the last fall, I was always puzzled. Why in the world...? Michele Bachmann called and a couple other people called and said, "Look, these phone calls aren't doing anything. We have to have people actually show up. We have to have people show up in the Capitol and eyeball these people, congressmen and senators, and let them see firsthand the rage 'cause the phone calls aren't working and the e-mail isn't working. Well, maybe it wasn't working because the calls were not getting through. Calls were being jammed or forwarded, redirected somehow. I'm just wild guessing, but don't doubt me. I wouldn't be surprised if that's what O'Keefe was doing. END TRANSCRIPT

2. What an astoundingly absurd theory. FAIL. |
|
Why on earth would a member of Congress want to be unavailable to her constituents? The exact opposite is true of every one I've known, and that's on both sides of the aisle. Shit, J.D. Hayworth's office always responded to my calls and emails.

8. Don't make any difference what they were doing was illegal |
|
hey rush don't you know what illegal means. I know you got off a drug charge that would have gotten anybody else 10 to 20. And then turned around and had somebody else's drugs in your possession and got off that, but just because you are the big mouth with a crap load of money and bought your way out, not everybody can get out of illegal...illegal rush, charges.

10. yeah it was just plain citizen activism. A demonstration, if you will |
|
I know lots of activists who chain themselves to gates at nuclear sites and so forth and are proud to be arrested. Okeefe's reaction to getting sent to a voice mail system OBVIOUSLY requires false representation, trespassing, interfering with a phone system and so forth. They just did it secretly, unlike every other protester ever in history trying to call attention to a problem. Breaking the law (under a Democratic president) is always encouraged by Republicans because they are, you know, like Gandhi, not like Gordon Liddy.
Nice try Rush. You've got the beginnings of another psychotic solid wall of RW screaming that your criminals should be praised, not punished. I'm sure all your regular listeners are satisfied.

He emphatically says he knows exactly what O'Keefe was doing then contradicts himself 2 sentences later and says he doesn't really know what was going on, he is only speculating.
How can any of his listeners take this drivel seriously? Good grief. :eyes:

17. Mary Landrieu is a conservative Democrat |
|
Edited on Thu Jan-28-10 06:17 PM by ngant17
so it is a mystery why these Repug delinquents would want to target her for some future smear campaign, like they did with ACORN.
Glenn Beck and Rush Limbaugh called her a "high-priced prostitute" for her opposition to public health insurance/Affordable Health Choices Act of 2009(HR 3200) until the bill was rewritten to send $300 million in Medicaid to her home state.
Maybe they think she has potential as a Democratic version of Palin, seeking higher office, so they want to kill her off in any way they can.

who would replace the father of one of the conspirators. If they could find something compromising it might do the trick and the father could retain his job. Sen. Vitter has already put a hold on the successor's nomination.

18. OK, Rush, you doughy, ignorant fuck ... I'll say this slowly so you can understand. |
|
If you are correct, then you have just (accurately) accused all four of these little skidmarks of commiting a federal felony. Probably not what you intended. You know, Pigboy, I believe that if you placed a gun in your mouth and blew your brains out through the back of your skull, you would actually become marginally smarter.

|
Edited on Thu Jan-28-10 10:32 PM by applegrove
they had a campaign against ML. Looks like Michelle Bachmann was involved and she isn't from Louisianna. I bet most of those phone calls weren't either. Thanks for clearing that up Rush. I bet they were trying to terrify Landrieu into not voting for health care. How manipulative is that.

the new talking point is that he *just* trying to disable her phones :eyes:
But that doesn't explain the LISTENING device THE FBI found in their car, does it?

26. Rush, do the words "digital PBX" mean anything to you? |
|
You can't just LOOK at a digital PBX to see if someone "jimmied" with the system--and why the hell would anyone put a "dump all the calls to a dead line" on a business PBX? Business people LIKE to get phone calls--the people at the other end of the phone line are trying to give them money. You'd have to go to a great deal of trouble to patch into the system with a laptop and look at the routing table.
No, no, I think the explanation is quite simple: O'Keefe was committing a federal felony and Rush is mixing oxycontin with Everclear and dipping the heads of his cigars in it again.
