Peter Sprigg (Family Research Council) says we need to outlaw "gay behavior"
Edited on Wed Feb-03-10 12:06 PM by ck4829
Chris Matthews: Let me ask you Peter, so you think people choose to be gay.

Peter Sprigg: People do not choose to be have same sex attractions, but they do choose to engage in homosexual conduct. And that conduct also which incidentally is against the law within the military. It violates the Uniform Code of Military Justice. It doesn't make any sense for us to be actively recruiting people who are going to violate the Uniform Code of Military Justice.

Matthews: Do you think we should outlaw gay behavior?

Sprigg: Well I think certainly...

Matthews: I'm just asking you, should we outlaw gay behavior?

Sprigg: I think that the Supreme Court decision in Lawrence v. Texas which overturned the sodomy laws in this country was wrongly decided. I think there would be a place for criminal sanctions against homosexual behavior.

Matthews: So we should outlaw gay behavior?

Sprigg: Yes.

Remember that the FRC is not some "fringe" organization, but they directly lobby the Republican Party.

1. Yes, let's outlaw gay behavior
Right after we outlaw stupid behavior and obnoxious behavior and racist behavior and on and on. Even if their concern was legitimate (which of course it is not, since it simply does not even affect their lives), we can't just make laws against the way people are that we dislike.

Sometimes I wish we could outlaw the existence of people like that.

2. So, this bozo admits that...
..."people do not choose" to be attracted to someone of the same sex. So, he understands that homosexuality
has an inherent or natural component that is not a choice.

But then, he wants the behavior outlawed?

So, if a group acknowledges that people born with green eyes didn't choose that trait--but then goes on to make
green eyes illegal--that sure says a hell of a lot about the lack of decency, compassion and humanity of those
people.

We're not talking about traits that harm people or cause damage. We're talking about attraction.

If only these people would sit down and THINK for five seconds...
