Wife of GOP California congressman dies of cancer

Wife of GOP California congressman dies of cancer

Ethie Radanovich, the wife of Rep. George Radanovich of California's Central Valley, has died of ovarian cancer.

The congressman said in a statement Friday that his wife slipped into a coma Wednesday after enduring a nearly three-year battle. She passed away in her northern Virginia home Thursday night at the age of 50.

Ethelinde Weaver Radanovich was an Oklahoma native known for her ebullient personality. The former political consultant married Radanovich in 1996 and gave birth to their only son, King, two years later.

The Mariposa congressman called her "the love of my life." He announced in December that he would not seek re-election in the Republican-leaning 19th congressional district to be with his family during her cancer battle.

14. That and Pancretic Cancer are two of the deadliest
it would be nice if they could focus a little more on those. When I had cancer the first time, I had tumors that had attached themselves to the ovaries. I have to keep telling every medical personnel that I go to IT WAS NOT OVARIAN CANCER. They seem to want to put that down since the tumors were attached to the ovaries. Thank goodness it wasn't.

And then 25 years later I get breast cancer. Some people never get cancer and I got it twice in my lifetime. Go figure.

16. Well so did I, but it was breast cancer.
And then a bout of relatively mild thyroid cancer after that. But hopefully that has run it's course with me and will never pay another visit again!

No ovarian cancer for me but that's because of having it all removed due to other problems and my strong family history of cancer (mom had BC twice as well, an aunt w/ovarian and BC, another aunt with twice BC). The doctor advised it was just a cancer-collecting basket w/our history and since I was finished w/kids to just have it all removed. The best thing that every happened was removing that headache...no more worries!

Some people have all the luck, eh?

21. My Mom, too.
Had a collossal sarcoma removed from her thigh in '64. The doctors told her that she probably wouldn't see my sister and I grow up. Thank the Lord, the doctors were wrong.

She wound up dying of stomach cancer.......31 years later.

19. My very sincere condolences to him and his family. Cancer is just so awful.
It's terrible to watch someone you love taken from you before their time. May she rest in peace and may he and his family find healing and comfort.
