You know what I wish Obama would do? Speak to the American people from the Oval Office |
|
Edited on Sat Feb-06-10 11:46 AM by housewolf
I'm listening to him talk to the Dems at the DNC meeting, and find so much empathy, real caring and concern, and good common sense in what he says... I wish he'd hold a conversation with the American people instead of the Washington politicians, outlining the problems and what it's going to take to fix them. I think he could gain a lot of confidence that way as well as help to calm things down.

2. Good suggestion. I agree. But I don't think the problem is with what he says.... |
|
..the problem is what he does... Meet The New Boss..Obama Appoints Bush Insider as Head Of The DEA"http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_mesg&forum=389&topic_id=7644769&mesg_id=7644769I guess there were no Democrats available.

3. Then the RW heads would really explode |
|
or is it implode? Implode I think. There's a lot of empty space in there. But...imagine the tea baggers seeing who they see as "the Kenyan Usurper" sitting in the Oval Office? It's one thing seeing The President of the United States addressing a town hall meeting or a group of Senators in a school gym or meeting room, but seeing The President of the United States speaking from the Oval Office, the symbol of The President of the United States, oh man -- that would send them over the edge.
So do it, Obama. Tell Rahm to set up your teleprompter (snark) in the Oval Office and start talking.

4. That would be a very bold move. |
|
Unfortunately, Obama doesn't do bold.

5. He did a youtube interview this week, weekly addresses, town halls....what else can we ask from him? |
|
You can't be in campaign mode 24/7 when youve got two wars and so much shit to do. Some of the responsibility is on us, and in a normal america the media would pick up the slack. There is obviously more money to be made in giving sarah palin and teastuffers the microphone though. Check your News Corporation Stock.
