This mouth breather says Congratulations SAINTS Fans. Good on you. Good on NOLA! |
|
I watched the game with no clear favorite in mind, though I was rooting for Archie Manning's son. I don't care what anyone says, watching two groups of players play for a championship makes for an excellent game, no matter the sport, and an excellent game it was.
What an excellent game! Excellent officiating! Excellent everything associated with the the game (well, other than the halftime show...Who?).
Good on Saints fans. Good on Peyton Manning for being a gracious loser. Good on everyone involved.
Most of all? Good on New Orleans. If anyone in the United States needed a "pick me up", it was they. And they got it, in spades.
Who dat gonna beat dem Saints?

8. Okay, your opinion. I loved it, and the game. Now let's argue about health care. |
|
Just kidding, I know we both want better health care as of yesterday.

But I have to put my two cents in here. I've been in concert production for 15 years. I'm currently a stage manager at a major venue and work for a corporate promoter that everybody has heard of. I've sat through hundreds and hundreds of concerts. I generally sit off stage left during shows. Sit. I sit. 1 in every 100 bands gets me off my ass to actually see their performance.
The Who performance was amazing. The light show was ridiculous. The amount of lasers...outrageous. The spots the had on the very upward and outward limits of the stadium? Either dozens of fantastic spot ops or a focus that would take days. The band sounded much better than I thought they were. And in a room full of production people that have more than 100 years of concert production experience combined, we concluded a couple of things:
That they were indeed performing their own music (no recorded tracks)...and that they were kick ass. They got me off my ass. And I was sitting in a living room.
So hooray Saints. And fantastic performance from The Who...from somebody that does that for a living.
