Big Love nails lobbyist influence on politics |
|
the main character, a covert polygamist, gets the idea to run for state legislature, and a lobbyist has the power to make or break his campaign by snagging the endorsement of a US congressman, but the price of her help is getting a lobbying gig at the Indian casino he just opened.
It's brutal.

1. I love watching these crazy HBO Mormons each week. What a train wreck! |
|
BTW - love the twist this season where Bill's son Ben and his third wife Marjean - for whom Ben has the hots - finally kissed.
What new sicknesses await us?

4. Ben and his non-blood sister hooking up? |
|
they didn't grow up together and the only connection is that her mom is married to his dad, so the parents will be discomfited but technically and legally, they won't be doing anything wrong.

2. A little bit off topic but |
|
I'm a relatively new viewer of this show, and what strikes me is how busy all these people are. In one scene, Bill is in his office, and the very next scene he's at his mom's and then the next one he's at his homemade church doing construction, etc.
Is it just me or is that grossly unrealistic?
And now he's got time to run for public office? After just opening a casino?
What a crock of horseshit.
And whenever one of the wives calls him to ask him to do something, he just does it. This guy must somehow have 72 hours in a day or something.

7. He also has sex every night |
|
And with three different women.
It's all part of the theme of the show.

9. That's because HBO only ordered 9 episodes for Season 4. Seasons 1-3 were each 12 episodes. |
|
The producers are having to cram lots of info into those episodes. Lots of story lines besides the main show with Bill.

8. That is the best show! |

I love that Bill is running for office as a republican. And that convention was wild.
