Ben Nelson To FILIBUSTER Key Obama Labor Nominee
As far as I'm concerned, Ben Nelson, who seems more willing to accommodate Republican positions over Democratic programs or appointments can only continue to hurt or suppress Democratic causes.

Ben Nelson = DINO

" The Senator, it should be noted, has been much more inclined to filibuster Obama's nominees than he was when George W. Bush was making the appointments."

In a move that will further irritate his Democratic critics, Sen. Ben Nelson (D-Neb.) announced on Monday evening that he would not just oppose but also help filibuster President Barack Obama's nominee to a key labor relations agency

In a statement from his office, the Nebraska Democrat announced that he would oppose cloture for Craig Becker's appointment to the National Labor Relations Board, all but assuring that confirmation won't take place.

"Mr. Becker's previous statements strongly indicate that he would take an aggressive personal agenda to the NLRB, and that he would pursue a personal agenda there, rather than that of the Administration," said Senator Nelson. "This is of great concern, considering that the Board's main responsibility is to resolve labor disputes with an even and impartial hand. In addition, the nominee's statements fly in the face of Nebraska's Right to Work laws, which have been credited in part with our excellent business climate that has attracted employers and many good jobs to Nebraska. Considering these matters, I will oppose the upcoming cloture motion and the nomination."

"It's a shame and a disappointment that Senator Nelson is willing to continue to leave working families without a fully staffed NLRB," said Eddie Vale, a spokesman for the AFL-CIO. "Becker is an eminently qualified nominee. Its pretty confusing and circular logic that Nelson contends he wouldn't represent the administrations agenda, when he was nominated by the administration, twice."

1. What's the point of filibustering when we can't even get the nominee pushed through due to a blanket
hold by Shelby.

2. Blue Dogs are more to blame than republicans. Obama pretends that he needs to get Repukes
in order to be bipartisan. He needs to get them in order to get Blue Dogs on his side. It's so disgusting.

6. This is one of the core reasons why Democrats fail time and again to advance Democratic positions.

11. given that 38% of Americans (one poll says) are okay with socialism
that means that 86% would be okay if you don't call it that

and that means that it's the leftmost party that's obstructing leftism in this country (and it was bipartisan consensus that purged Marxism from American public discourse 1947-57 and helped turn it into a nation so politically colorblind you can say "the Nazis were socialists" and not get deported for sheer moronicity)

5. Ben Nelson is a republican
He held up and watered down HCR. He is joining the Republicans on a filibuster. He wants to act like a republican he needs to voted out and replaced with a real Democrat.

8. Agreed! The sooner more Democrats begin flushing these Demo-fakes down the sewer, the closer we'll
get to advancing real Democratic policy reform.

7. Maybe this is a good thing, it'll set a fire under Reid's ass
and get him to start working on changing that stupid rule. He also needs to tell that conservative wanker to get down on the floor and talking, buster, because that "I'm going to filibuster" with no actual effort toward it won't work any more.

Assholes!

We've been holding his ass to the fire and he still hasn't responded.
