Because it doesn't really sound very plausible that they would warn people for weeks that they are going to roll in with tons of gear and then really expect guerilla fighters to remain in place.

6. Step 1: increase troops and create a surge.
Step 2: wait for the negative press of the action subside.
Step 3: reduce troops to pre-surge levels and take credit for "pulling troops out".

One such permutation of this scam is to shuffle troops between two theaters of operation.
Taking credit while pulling troops out of one theater, but downplaying the surge of troops into the other.

It's alot like companies "holding layoffs to position themselves for growth"
My guess is he brings the excess troops home around election time.
Obama is playing the peaceniks like a fiddle.

15. The thing hasn't even been built yet
For a war that you maintain was always about a pipeline and continues to be about a pipeline, they're sure taking their sweet time to build the thing. Quite frankly I'd hardly be surprised if it never gets built.

16. That's what people were saying in 2002
Yet here we are 8 years later and they still haven't even started building the thing yet. Quite frankly I'm looking for other explanations as to why we are there.

13. Kill a bunch of civilians so the survivors will love us more?
I was never in the military, so this doesn't make sense to me, but I have been informed by very reliable sources . . .
