Here is Gravel putting the top 3 dem candidates to shame. OK some might argue age but if you've got you've got it from what I've read he's running out of pure conscience. Gravel/Kucinich ticket or vica versa the perfect ticket, video link... http://movies.crooksandliars.com/DemDebate-Gravel-Frightene.mov

1. If you don't care about the dying American middle class, I guess Gravel is great for the top. (nt) |

Direct on air america and he was very plain speaking on all the issues. This small excerpt showed he had the passion too. As far as I can see he's put himself in the race for all the right reasons and I'll keep an eye on him personally.

2. When the democratic contenders met, a few months back, |
|
to introduce themselves and give speeches elucidating their positions, there were exactly two whom I found inspirational. They were Gravel and Dodd. Kucinich was, of course, factual and correct, with his "no strings attached" demonstration, but hardly inspiring. The rest were mere politicians, as far as enthusiasm and inspiration went.

3. Remind me not to count on your analysis of the candidates anymore. |

If I stray, knock me back to reality.

6. Easy that's a bit harsh, a little counter argument wouldn't go amiss, would it. |

At six foot four and almost three hundred pounds, I'm a pussycat and unlikely to knock anyone anywhere.
Actually, my comment was not meant to be an analysis of policy, but strictly about the presence of the speaker. The passion of both men was...well, inspiring. Gravel has spent too much time in Ak and not in touch with the rest of the country or the world.
When I think of what it was the I found so inspiring, it finally hits me.
Politicians pull their punches. They avoid absolute terms like liar, thief or incompetent asshole. Gravel, as I recall-it's been a while- was more open to calling a spade a f**king shovel and not being a diplomat when it comes to people he sees as high paid shills or fancy boys and holds in contempt. Perhaps not a useful attitude in shill-land, but refreshing, none the less.

4. Gravel is against progressive taxation. He favors a national sales tax. |
|
Economically, he's much more of a Libertarian than a Democrat.
