"Obama wasn't even born in America". |
|
Edited on Thu Feb-11-10 03:39 PM by undeterred
Even though I know this is out there, I wasn't prepared when someone actually said it to me. My first thought was that I couldn't imagine Justice Roberts swearing in anyone who actually didn't meet the requirements to run for office. But I didn't think this person would even know who Justice Roberts was or that he was a conservative. The idea that this country could inaugurate a President who didn't meet the requirements for office is mind-boggling. If you believed such a thing, why would you even vote?
I treated it like someone had let out a fart. I took a step back and pretended I didn't hear or smell a thing.

18. In a way it isn't stupidity. I think Rachael Maddow said something like this last night. |
|
They are smart enough to understand that the truth doesn't fit their view of the world so they make up a lie to replace the truth.
I think there must be some psychiatric description of this somewhere.

You can't argue with stupid, but you can certainly joke with it, or at least at it.

2. Yeah, that's about as ridiculous as the woman on Joy Behar's show |
|
that said Sarah Palin resigned as Governor of Alaska because "the Lower 48 needed her." :puke:
I don't know where these people come from, but I really do wish the Mother Ship would return to Earth and pick them up for their return journey back home!

8. We were talking about the Supreme Court |
|
and how they might rule on the issue of Asian Carp invading the Great Lakes. He brings up the birth status of Barack Obama, who he probably thinks is in charge of the SC. So I just kept talking and reminded him that the Court had a conservative majority and that conservatives don't tend to be strong supporters of the environment/conservation. And I slowly backed away...

10. McCain wasn't born in America. He is the child of US citizens and |
|
born at a US military facility in the Canal Zone which makes him a natural citizen as is President Obama.

20. I hardly think a career naval officer would let his wife give birth |
|
in a civilian facility when there's a military one right down the street -- especially back then. One did not associate with the indigens except to boss them around, don'tchaknow.
Anyway, wouldn't matter if he were born on Mars. His parents were citizens, so he was a citizen from birth.

21. Whose America we talkin' here? |
|
If you're talking United States of America only, Mc Cain loses out. If you accept reasonable leeway about US military bases and military families, both canidates are in good shape. These goobers are f'n insane, though. Facts don't matter- only what some nutcase can insinuate, to sow doubt and confirm that stupid asses like them are "Real Amurricans" - waving their chinese made flags, thinking that they'd be better off under a benovlent (or psychotic- depends on the meds) monarch, whose real loyalties are to oil money and the CIA.

Hawaii is a Pacific archipelago nowhere near the continent of America. It was however a State in the United States of America and thus, Obama is a natural born citizen.
Ask them if Canadians are eligible for the presidency, or Mexicans for that matter.
