North Texas sets snowfall record

DFW Snow Record Set; 7.9" Of Snow So Far

FORT WORTH (CBS 11 / TXA 21) ― North Texas has set a record for the most snow ever to fall in a single calendar day. As of 7 p.m., DFW had received 7.9" of snow. The record for the most snow received in a 24-hour period is 12.1" from January 15 to January 16, 1964.

Snow has been falling across North Texas since 3 a.m. Some parts of North Texas could have as much as 10 inches of snow before it's all over.

The heaviest snow ended by about 6 p.m. across most of the area, but it will continue to fall until about 2 a.m.

The temperature will drop below freezing at about 9 p.m. Thursday, and that's when the roads will start to get much worse.

2. I hope my niece in Des Moines is giving her brother and sister in Dallas a hard time
The Dallas side was giving her a really hard time early January when things were so snowy and cold in Iowa.

I hope she is giving them some payback.
