There's seemingly been no other news worthy stories on FOX since this tripe has taken priority.

Gee, those Hollywood Liberals are so scary to nut-case koolaid drinking right wingers. ;)

15. It's a love-hate relationship
Republicans seem to love their own Hollywood royalty: Arnold, Reagan, Sonny Bono, Fred Thompson, etc.

Has there been a Hollywood Democrat as prominent as any of them in the past 30 or so years in politics?

He has a book coming out on divorce litigation. He wants to devote his life to the cause of parental alienation.

He doesn't know yet if he will be released from his contract for 30 Rock.

His future will be working against parental alienation from their children.

He recommends all divorcing parents get to "PEACE" as fast as they can after the divorce...for the sake of the children.

20. Leaking the message WAS equally contemptible.
Now, instead of being privately mortified, the kid is publicly mortified. I bet she has to hear giggling and "oinking" in the hall between classes.

If she has classes. Maybe she just has tutors? Dunno.

An 11-year-old in Hollywood is a few years older than those in other parts of the country. After her dad made fun of her dancing on Letterman, she may have thought he deserved to be embarrassed big-time too.

It never occured to me that the kid would leak it. That would give her a pyrrhic victory of sorts.

The "oinking" in the hallways wouldn't hurt as much.

They will screw up because they're human just like the rest of us. When they do screw up, it most likely will be publicized one way or the other, because they live under a microscope. If it's a liberal to moderate Democrat leaning celebrity, the mass corporate media will give it major air play as if life depended on us knowing every sordid detail. If the celebrity doesn't apologize, they will castigated by the mass corporate media for not being contrite.

I also believe in the adage of turning lemons in to lemonade, it seems to me, Baldwin would be perfectly suited to speak out on the dangers of parental alienation, just as an alcoholic would be well suited to speak out against the dangers of alcohol at an AA meeting.

It's always the child who is the victim ~ and so far we can only speculate about which parent is the biggest problem. But we are all getting some insights into "parental alienation" ~ and imo we're also getting a good idea of the tactics a raging narcissist might resort to.

35. anyone who knows anyone who has gone through an ugly custody fight knows what's what
The way some parents use the kids to get back at each other is dispicable. Plenty of messages and conversations like this occur everyday, unfortunately.

I haven't followed this one closely, but I know it has been going on for years, so it's not surprising that Baldwin cracked. For it to be made public is really just sad for all involved.

50. No, each case is individual. For all WE can know, Basinger is justified
in her concern about Baldwin. Clearly, the judge was concerned enough to temporarily halt visitation.

The only evidence we have -- the tape -- shows that Baldwin doesn't have enough self-control not to take his rage out on his daughter.

Just because "parental alienation" is real, doesn't mean it applies in every case of custody disputes.

because parental alienation is real-I've seen it happen many times.

Alec got his dig in on Kim too which I loved because it showed that she isn't pure as snow. He said she wakes their daughter up by yelling at her to "get the hell up!"

I was  because payback is a b*tch-Kim should NEVER have allowed that tape be released.

I don't give the tiniest fraction of a rat's ass what some actor said to his daughter. I understand that most Americans are zombie sheeple who live vicariously through their silicone-injected media deities, but the fact that this moronic celebrity mania has infected so many at DU is just sickening. Fascism is looming and hundreds of thousands have died in Iraq, so I don't see any reason to worry over the fate of the Baldwin family.

is understandable. There are apparently many here that feel this is a non-issue. I disagree.

Putting one's child into the middle of a divorce and robbing them of their childhood is, IMO, a criminal act. The results of such selfish behavior are far reaching. If we want to cure the evil that resides in the WH, can we at least do our best to insure that the generation inheriting our f'd up political mire is not used as pawns in a divorce case?

please excuse my grammar -- this subject has left deep scars

51. I well know of the scars, and, at 48, I'm still feeling the hurt.
Wait until you hear how my story turned out. My parents were divorced for three decades. I went through it all - the substance abuse, the yelling, and the insults. My job was to go down and talk Dad out of more money when SHE (Mummy Dearest) was in money-trouble. As I got older, Dad and I became good friends. Decades went by. Dad told me how I would be in charge of his hard-won 'fortune,' or nest egg. I trained as an accountant, became a social worker, and went to law school. Well, his brain started to shrink, and dementia set in, from years of drinking. During a few 'moments,' when my sis and I 'had our backs turned,' SHE stepped back into the picture, got the power-of-attorney, and had herself put in charge of the trust, the attorney and his witnesses there to swear that he was competent. A short time after the final papers were signed, Dad 'fell,' in HER presence, went into the hospital, was detoxed after years of drinking, went into a coma, was fairly psychotic when he came out, and lived in locked homes thereafter, while SHE relaxed in HIS home. Dad passed this last fall, after nine years in homes, and I'm fighting for my fair share of his estate, and for my sister's. We owe it to our families, and to Dad. I swear I'm not making this story up. The soap opera never ends; it didn't for me, and it probably won't for Ireland, although I hope that it does.
