Anderson Cooper is a good man and easy on the eyes!
I'm wat ching a segment from Anderson Cooper about the Haiti orphanages. He genuinely seems to care about these kids. And he doesn't stand off to the side, he gets in the middle of the kids and cuddles and tickles and takes pictures on his cell phone. It's just beautiful.

1. I noticed the National Enquirer at the grocery store the other day
It said that Anderson Cooper, "and his hunky boyfriend" are adopting a Haitian orphan. I have no idea if that's true or not.

2. If he's gay, it doesn't make him any less attractive
I doubt they are going to adopt a Haitian child because he seems to understand that the Haitians don't want their children sent to America. They want people to help them keep their children.

3. I'm pretty sure the part about him being gay is true
I just don't know if he's really adopting a baby.

7. cool
I keep thinking of that boy he saved from being pelted by concrete chunks by looters.
I'll bet he'd be a great dad.

10. He probably could be good
But he's been sucked into the whole "news as entertainment" crap. It's more of the "talking head as star" crap that has been building really for the better part of 4 decades. And the funny part is, in the Haiti work, and in the work he did around Katrina, you can tell there's a "hard news" guy in there. I'd be curious to see what he would do if they gave him 30 minutes to just "let Anderson be Anderson".

11. Funny thing is..there are a lot of people who have money
and were raised with privilege that are compassionate and feeling. It is a shame that once they get that almighty dollar a lot of people curl up inside.

13. When he picked up that one kid who got injured and he was carrying him around....
it seemed a little Geraldo-ish, like playing it up for the cameras, but yeah he does seem like a good guy who genuinely cares most of the time.

I don't mind Cooper tooooo much as him being a CNNer and all, but not sure if what he does is really for his job and the camera or his kind heartedness, both, dunno.

If he really wanted to report on the poverty in Haiti I wish he would talk about background stories (which he might have and I missed but its very unlikely as corporate media does not want to talk about this) like US government subsizdized cheap food being dumped there and putting farmers out of business because they can't compete. the US has contributed to the hard times of the Haitians. Now if he carried around a wounded child AND did some REAL reporting, I could like him more.

Amanpour had a guest on that brought this up, but she ignored him like he didn't say anything and went onto something else.
