"We never forget who we're working for."

Defense giant Lockheed Martin took out a full-page color ad in the Washington Post today memorializing the late Rep. John Murtha (D-PA).

..............

The ad, which you can see here, lauds Murtha for his "towering leadership and tireless work on behalf of our armed forces."

It also praises his work for diabetes and breast cancer awareness, as well as National Parks.

On the bottom, under the Lockheed Martin logo, is the tagline, "We never forget who we're working for."

1. The Stockholders
I always love that tag line. They are legally obligated to work "for" their stockholders. Truth is, most of the executives work for their own bonuses.

2. Nice to see Lockheed remembered on of their finest pork providers
I laud Murtha's stand against the war, but his pork has cost us billions and billions. How appropriate that it is one of his biggest benefactors that takes out this ad.

4. I am not sure what the Johnstown area will do without him.
Grew up very close to there and the town has been economically depressed for years; Murtha was their fighter and brought in new industry, like wind turbines. I had some disagreements with him but thought he was a great guy.

Here's a link to his last interview (video) - from the Johnnstown Tribune Democrat:

RIP John Murtha :-(
