Hey Sarah, how's that fakey-folksy thing working out for ya?
The rubes sure buy it hook, line and stinker. The rest of us don't. Being a former "beauty queen" (weren't you like a runner-up or something?), it's obvious to the rest of us that your every move, every wink, every homespun homily is nothing but an artifice designed to beg the judge to "Pick me! Pick me!!". The only thing that's real about you is the danger you'd put this country in should you ever become president.

She's 'acting' for sure.. but it's such a shabby, F grade performance..

Her success, as it were, only serves to reconfirm to me, over and over, just how desperate a certain swath of ignorant, delusional Americans are..that they are willing to buy this cheesy, transparent act of hers.. that they need a mediocre charlatan like Palin to tell them exactly what they want to hear, just to reinforce their narrow, convoluted world view..

That's way too much pondering Palin. Now I need a shower.

35. She was in Daytona yesterday
and people were lined up in the cold rain to have their books signed. Several women had her hairstyle and glasses. I told my husband "How low a self esteem or lack of ego must one have to dress up like this woman?"

2. now go easy on Sarah
Folks are liining up in the tens to get a wrist band for her book signing this afternoon in the Daytona Beach area.

There were 100 this morning in line to get one of the 900 available wrist bands at the Books-a-Million store - according to the TV commentator covering the huge event.

Need to avoid the area - traffic must be a nightmare.

I went out to see if I could find a link for you.

Apparently her book-signing scheduled for tomorrow has been rescheduled until Monday. NASCAR driver Danika Patrick offers too much competition.

Gotta love it!!!!

The right love their Sarah - but love their NASCAR more.

Now if Sarah could just sign a car-racing deal . . . .

NASCAR, Sarah Palin, Yeow. I could say something classist and racist like like I can't believe those redneck crackers wouldn't swarm out of their trailer parks in droves, but I won't...Just kidding, people!

21. That ain't happenin'!
Hey, why does NASCAR = right wing to you? Prejudice? Lack of understanding? And that's Danica Patrick, who ahowed quite well in the ARCA race last weekend, along with 5 other ladies.
Let me explain this another way - you cannot fake the considerable mental and physical tools required to drive a racing car at the top levels of the sport. And NASCAR fans are not numbskull "teabaggers" - in fact, they represent a wide range of the political spectrum, and progressives should try harder to engage them politically.

I never said NASCAR=Right Wing. You said that.

I said the RW loved their NASCAR. If you cannot see the difference, then I am surely wasting my time here.

Just cool it.

Bullshit. Greater than 90% of them are Rightists. Not necessarily Republicans (though the vast majority of them are), some are conservative "Democrats", but nearly every last one is a Rightist.

You disagree? Then find me non-anecdotal evidence that says otherwise. If we just nuked the crowd at Daytona every couple years, the south would be blue within a decade.

31. Define "Rightist". Support the 90% number. Show your work.
Your contentions are utterly ludicrous, and you sound more than a little disturbed to me.

20. These remind me of the Bittersweet hearts at Despair.com
Edited on Fri Feb-12-10 02:31 PM by catbyte
They offer 3 different themes:

BitterSweets - Dysfunctional

37 biting barbs for stirring up the bile in toxic relationships of all kinds, including "NO FIX 4 DUMB", "SUB PRIME", "GAME ON TV", "PAROLE IS UP!", "RETURN TO PIT", and "BOOTY INFL8N".

Bittersweets - Dumped

Dumped offers 37 brutal kissoffs including "U LEFT SEATUP", "BACK 2 KENNEL", "I GOT SOBER", "CELIB8 THX2U", "CALL A 900#" and "RUSSIAN BRIDE".

BitterSweets - Dejected

37 depressing sayings for those spending Valentine's Day alone and in a state of self-flagellation, including "LOSS LEADER", "SETTLE 4 LESS?", "TABLE FOR 1", "I CRY ON Q", "PEAKED AT 17", and "DIGNITY FREE".

The url is: http://www.despair.com/bittersweets.html

They're really hilarious, and I love the flavor descriptions: "Supplies are limited. But the pain that accompanies them may not be.

Available in six different flavors, including: Banana Chalk, Grape Dust, Nappy-Citric, You-Call-This-Lime?, Pink Sand and Fossilized Antacid."

8. "Let just ignore her"
Kerry ignored the swift-boaters until half of America were convinced of their lies.

Clinton didn't fire back at his critics during his first days in office and let the right get the upper hand from the get-go.

For many years, sane people just ignored Limbaugh saying that no one really took him seriously when, in fact, millions did believe his crap. (And still do)

Letting lies go unchallenged is not a good strategy.

15. This is true but I think we need some moderation
For the last year, the left has been just as effective as the right in promoting her.

When she makes unfounded charges we need to answer them and them move on.

We've go WAY WAY beyond answering charges and have joined in promoting her. This thread is an excellent example. Heck we've got people suggesting putting her on their own T-Shirts!

Take for example the birth certificate issue. I think this is the ideal way to handle this sort of nonsense.

The Obama campaign answered the charges quickly and decisively and then moved on. Sure the right continues to rattle on about B/C nonsense, but that issue was completely neutralized. He didn't get swift boated or limbaughed, and the issue isn't an issue anymore.
