8. My thanks for my heart - I've been in a sad place because both of my dogs

have become ill at the same time, and the outcome is still uncertain (they could be around awhile longer, or I could lose them both). I can't even talk about how I feel right now, but am trying to be positive.

When I saw the cute little heart on my today, it made me tear up and smile at the same time. Whoever gave me the heart, I want you to know you brightened my day. Thank you so much, because I needed a lift right now.

11. Hey DeschutesRiver--

I lived right on the Deschutes years ago, only about thirty feet from the water. It was at Warm Springs. I lived on the reservation side of the river, about 3/4 of a mile south of the bridge from Madras. Man, the fishing was fantastic. I never failed to catch several nice trout. Whenever I pulled out my rod and reel, the cats went nuts, knowing fish heads were in their future. At that point, the Deschutes is quite wide and deep and fast moving. What a beautiful river. I was a tree thinner, my units were near Mt. Hood. Great days, hard work, good fun.

27. The fishing is awesome on the DR near Warm Springs!

I never lived as close you did - what an great opportunity to be that near such a great river, and working in the outdoors! And indeed some of our best fishing ever was in/around Warm Springs. We fished it, we used to raft it every summer in August, and did just about anything else we could all up and down it.

Right now, we are running a small ranch on a mountain top, some cattle, lots of fence fixing/horse riding, hiking, etc, and I feel the same - long days, hard work, but so much fun almost every day. I still take a break for a few minutes every evening when feeding the horses to watch a sunset like I'd never seen before, and may never again (we can see almost 50-75 miles every direction, and it is like a painting watching the sun go down), nor have failed to be amazed at how vast the Milky Way actually is once you see it where there are no lights around for miles.

I am so glad you got to experience this too. I'm gonna keep trucking like this over here until my old legs won't go anymore:)

I have a fairly good guess as to at least couple of 'em and just a guess re: the others. I also have gotten some PM"s absolutely out of the blue ( and in some replies on threads too) that said such nice things about me that it was almost embarrassing because there are so much more deserving people than I for kind words like those. But also much appreciated. Very very much... I have been going through some very difficult times ( though nothing compared to what some people have been going through with health and financial issues, loss of loved ones etc.) and the thoughtfulness of the hearts and the messages of appreciation I've received have meant more than those people could know and more than I would have believed. I wish I had enough money to donate to have been able to give a heart to everyone that I saw didn't have one; I did give my last one to a complete stranger and know that others have too.To everyone referred to above, and you obviously know who you are , thank you so very much.

87. This Valentine's day is very sad for me because of the death

of my husband in August. I don't think my grief will ever abate, though a lot of people assure me it will get better.
