Anyone Have Any Information On the Daytona Race?? May Be Wrong Place To
ask, but I checked the NASCAR website for my husband and I know NOTHING about NASCAR so the site was a little confusing!

Living in Florida I DO KNOW it was postponed (my husband told me) but he called and wanted me to find out what time and what channel. I know there are so many really informative people here, and probably some really like racing too! And yes, I know what they say about it politically1 However, that's about ALL I know about NASCAR!

Call me stupid, it's okay!

5. Okay... Thanks A Lot... Hubby Said He Just Wanted To Know If Anything
was going to interfere with "other" races today! And YES, it's cold here in Florida, the coldest winter I've seen in many, many years! We haven't had and frost at my house yet, but lots of leaves have fallen off my Ixoras and Hibiscus!

8. I Know... But As I Said At Another Thread... Every Once In A While
it's nice to put on a few extra clothes. While I'm not outside working in my yard, I'm snuggled up with a space heater reading some books! AND, obviously posting here!

Now, if my husband would just get together with some of his friends and order something for dinner, I'd be "snuggly" happy! When I get into my reading I have a hard time pulling myself away!

Have one eye on Olympics, while reading! I think it's colder in Daytona than where I am. Plus, the Gulf is just up the road and it's warmer because of that!

10. Actually... ALL The Leaves Dropped Off, But I Scraped The Branches
and still see green underneath! My husband was born here and he's really cold too! And yes, those of us who have lived here for a long long time find our blood is really thin! That's the terminology that's used I guess!

I do my own landscaping at my house. Seriously thinking about getting a veggie garden going, but need to screen it in! Weighing the cost right now.

11. It Snowed In Atlanta... We're Getting Another Front Coming In A Couple Of
days, wonder if you'll get SNOW THERE!! What I think many of us can't deal with is the wind. While we do have LOTS of wind (hurricanes, you know) the wind seems to make it much colder!

However, my chocolate labs LOVE IT!

26. Oh the wind has been horrible
LOL, that is why the call it a wind chill. The wind this year has been horrible. Plus Florida houses are not insulated like they are up north.

My fireplace has gotten more use this year than all the years put together. Can't warm this place up.

My Akita is loving it. He would stay out all night long if I let him.

25. AH So... My Hubby Really Did Have A Reason To Call! I Was Wondering
WHY if the Daytona was tomorrow he wanted to know about it today! Still, he did say Daytona to me. Must have a chat when he gets home!

I've started a thread and it's become "old home week" here in Florida. I've started serious threads that NEVER got this much attention. I'm really having FUN now!

Kind of puts the heavy stuff on the back burner, and we can go all "smiley face!

19. You Know, I Was Going To Make The Same Comment! Since It Was My
fellow Floridians I decided to respond about the weather too. I noticed it, but living here it's all about THE SUNSHINE STATE, etc., it morphed into what it did. What can I say, I think every state has had a few shocks regarding the weather this year!

What's that thing they say about not having anything to say, so you talk about the weather? Honestly though, I appreciate all the comments and THANKS to those who answered my first question.

Still, I didn't mind responding to weather conditions. Guess we're just all environmentally in tune.

16. well, i heard that at least one race/practice got rained out
yesterday, from the rain fronting the new cold snap that moved in. my so told me that he heard that the starting times this year will be exact, not a half hour later as has been the case in the past. so the 1:00 pm green flag time tomorrow for the 500 is real. don't be late!

personally, as a lifelong floridian, i LOVE the occasional, short terms cold spells. i thought we would get none this year so i have been pleasantly surprised. suck it up and enjoy it. the heat will be here soon enough.

21. And What HEAT That Is! To Any Who Have Been Here During OUR Summers
it can be BRUTAL! I can't tell you how many times I've talked about the "concrete world" that's been created here that makes it even HOTTER! Then, the humidity "sucks" your breath away when you walk outside as you become drenched with sweat JUST walking to your car!!

We HAVE snowbirds here, and this year I don't think the "birds" are all that happy! I'm talking about the "people" snowbirds!

You weren't really being sarcastic were you. I KNOW our weather is so much better than most! My son got to see snow for the first time in his life this year when he went to PA! Couldn't WAIT to leave!
