Edited on Sat Feb-13-10 12:02 PM by SallyMander

E.g., "Left wing bio prof, Amy Bishop, kills three when she's denied tenure. Sad - not so smart for a Harvard grad"

The link is to Right Wing News, which I won't legitimize with a link here. Apparently they base this "news story" on one quote from RateMyProfessors.com: "Neuroscience essentially turns into a bioethics class. She's a liberal from "Hahvahd" and let's you know exactly how she feels about particular subjects"

Way to politicize a horrible and traumatic situation... This story has really shaken me up, being an academic biologist myself. My sincere condolences to anyone affected by this terrible event.

Edit for typo.

1. any shooting nowadays turns into a political battle with both sides using them to gain points
it seems hard to believe that someone could just be a selfish bitch that killed people who wouldnt give her what she wanted, people would rather blame the other side or inanimate objects or thought rays emmanating from the NRA in fairfax county VA

4. Hang on there. Her access to guns and ammo made this crime possible.
However irrational, selfish and unjust her motivations were, she was empowered to act them out by apologists for gun proliferation.

6. and theres my point exactly, it becomes less about her and more about a political viewpoint
no matter how valid a point it is.. these posts always go the same way, guns bad, guns goods, its always about the guns rather than the piece of shit who uses them..

8. That's because we can't change people, but we CAN change the potential damage they do.
If you don't point to the public policy implications of incidents like this, then the sorry state of affairs is only ever going to be:

Such A Tragedy, Now Carry On Dying Y'all.

3. Yeah, and he is responsible for millions of deaths...
I would be happy to give them this one. They have so few tragedies that don't involve lunatics from the right.

5. How convenient.
It's not as though those "elitist" institutions are without right wingers.

Didn't Glenn Beck go to Yale? Dropped out I think. But still. Didn't Billo go to Harvard?
