On Thursday, a Denver news station interviewed Chris Bartkowicz about his medical-marijuana operation in the basement of his home. Bartkowicz, confident of his compliance with state laws, boasted of its size and profitability.

"I'm definitely living the dream now," he told 9News.

The following day, the dream was over.

Drug-enforcement agents raided his home, placed him under arrest, and carried off dozens of black bags of marijuana plants and growing lights.

4. And this has what to do with the DEA continuing to target growers & dispensaries for
medical marijuana?

5. oh, so it doesn't matter that he was insincere (or outright lied?) about the med marijuana thing?
just because some things are okay, we should just ignore the boneheaded, wrong things and not feel pissed off?

10. Good. Now, he should de-fund the stupid drug war, cut the military budget
and give NASA what it needs to continue a robust manned human presence in space into the 21st century.

So the guy got one thing right. He's gotten about 500 things wrong, starting with the pathetic try at health insurance "reform".

I'm sorry, but right now his performance has been mostly a disappointment to most of us.

14. here we go again...
WBO, all apologies, all the time.

what this country needs is a $5billion Democratic politician that will actually take a principled stand and stick to it. Unfortunately that species no longer exists in electable form.

3. It just never seems to end.
Easier for the DEA to go after medical marijuana dispensaries and doctors who they thing are doing too much to treat people's pain than to go after any real drug dealers or the cartels. Does this mean the President's words have no effect?

6. As much as I disagree about these laws, they are still laws
Edited on Sat Feb-13-10 08:50 PM by Uzybone
Regardless of what President Obama said, it is still against federal law. The guys should not have been flaunting his illegal business. Until the laws change, regardless of what Obama may have said or not, you shouldn't be flaunting an illegal business and not expect the feds to come at you.

"It's still a violation of federal law," said Jeffrey Sweetin, the DEA special agent in charge of the Denver office. "It's not medicine. We're still going to continue to investigate and arrest people."

Talk and memos are somewhat cheap, the law hasn't changed. Its gonna take more than just Obama to change the laws.

9. Fuck that! The law was changed. The DEA agents are fucking scum.
Fuck the feds! We changed the laws and they have no right to interfere with our state's rights. DEA is the lowest form of life on the planet. They are sadistic liars.

Cannabis is medicine and we will continue to grow it and use it. :hippie:

11. I'd like to see the part of the constitution that gives the federal gov't authority to put people in
jail for smoking a relatively benign plant in the privacy of their own homes.

I'll wait.

12. They have lied about pot for so long, it is just absurd.
DEA are fucking wussies. They would rather harass cancer patients than have to deal with real bad guys.

19. Not at all -- but enough of the formerly "taken for granted" need to push back against the Dems
...and make them understand there's a political price for being "GOP Lite"

8. And you'll notice while Obama is busy junking the US manned spaceflight program for good
the DEA's war on pot continues to be funded to the gills.

Edited on Sat Feb-13-10 10:10 PM by Froward69
I am pretty sure the DEA will be going to the other intersections ( ON my Mothers Grave they were listed in the article Yesterday. Part 1, is the original article) around town and making more arrests/Busts later this week.

Part 1)http://www.denverpost.com/search/ci_14387412

Part 2) http://www.denverpost.com/news/marijuana/ci_14393797?source=bb

I Seriously Wonder if President Obama is truly in command of the DEA?
or
Is President Obama pure fiction like the republicans have been saying?

OR it appears he LIED to us all.

Shout out to the DEA... Remember ELVIS was Tweaked out on Cocaine when he got one of your Badges Issued to him. (fuckers)
