2. That's what one of the other announcers said earlier. Does she still date Ted Turner? Maybe she is
going to get married. She is a wonderful liberal commentator. I hope she didn't get fired for her progressive views.

3. Here's why they said they cancelled it
Court TV Cancels Crier

By Anne Becker -- Broadcasting & Cable, 4/10/2007 3:10:00 PM

Court TV has cancelled legal news show Catherine Crier Live after a seven-year run. The star's contract was up and the network wants to fill more of its schedule with the entertainment shows it programs in prime. Staffers were informed today at a 3:00 p.m. meeting.

The show, which premiered in January 2000, clashes with Court's new stepped-up focus on unscripted drama. In March, Court announced it will ditch its name and change its programming under a rebrand slated to take effect Jan. 1, 2008.

The rebrand is designed to target a psychographic the network is calling "Real Engagers," who like action-based reality shows. Those shows, and not Court's daytime trial coverage, have raised the network's profile with viewers and pushed it into the top ten cable rankings, and that's not reflected in the Court TV moniker, executives have said.

Crier, who joined Court TV in 1999 and has been a marquee talent for the network, will leave her post as Executive Editor, Legal News Specials. At 5 p.m. where her show had run, the network is thinking of scheduling reruns of its hit reality series Psychic Detectives.

Turner-owned Court averaged 1.2 million total viewers in prime during first quarter, up 31% from last year, according to Nielsen Media Research. The network was up 30% during the day to an average 665,000 viewers. Crier's show drew 541,000 total viewers to its top showing last week.

5. Court TV Declines to Renew Crier Contract

'Court TV' Declines to Renew Catherine Crier Contract

Court TV has decided to forego renewing Catherine Crier's contract, and is axing the 5 p.m. legal news show Catherine Crier Live.

Crier came onboard Court TV in 1999; she will step down as executive editor, legal news specials, effective April 27, writes Mediaweek.

During Turner's upfront presentation in New York earlier this month, Entertainment Networks president Steve Koonin announced that Court TV will change its name as part of a total revamping process, though a new name has yet to be announced. The tossing of Crier comes amid other substantive afternoon programming changes already in the works, including the shortening of Nancy Grace's Closing Arguments to one hour and giving former Court TV personality Star Jones a new legal talk show.

No permanent replacement has yet been made for the 5 p.m. hour; in the meantime, Psychic Detectives will take Crier's place.

I've checked and can't findanything saying where she's going or what she will do next.

10. Or CBS ..
But probably not.. since she's "of a certain age"..and Corporate Media wimmin-folk need to havethe appearance of "Youth"..(Katie was actually a bit long in the tooth too)

katie will end up being replaced by a man or a lipglossed, fluffed-up, plastic boobie-toting airhead..

12. Court TV really has gone down hill.
I used to watch it when it first came on. But, ever since they started showing COPS and police dramas, I stopped watching.

11. Damn - my tivo will have nothing to do at 5:00 pm est
Think I will drop a line to MSNBC and suggest they put her in Allison Stewart's spot. Better yet, put her in Joe's spot. Even better yet - give her Tucker's time at 4:00 and 6:00 pm.

13. She told the truth about the bush administration too many times
I guess they thought she was too liberal. You know that most of the newsreaders on TV are republican orientated. That they stick their head up republican butt. Crier didn't do that.
