I don't care who the GOP runs |
|
President Obama will have my support (or not) based solely on his performance. And not as a knee jerk reaction to whatever scary monster the republicans pull from their ass. Just sayin...

1. Bravo. I too will support President Obama regardless of Dem primary challengers |
|
Everyone here should but by the posts of some fellow DUers and the vitriolic hatred I read about our President, I fear they may back another Dem.

2. As always the Democrats will receive my token "lesser evil" vote. |
|
Been doing it my whole electoral life. Meh.

4. We have had two great Democratic Presidents in the last thirty years. |

The whole lesser evil meme is stale.

7. I don't share your opinion of Clinton |
|
A great president doesn't preside over 3 of the greatest legislative disasters in the history of the country.
NAFTA, Telecommunications Act, Repeal of Glass-Steagall.
But like I said, entirely subjective. If you think those things were great then I could see your opinion of Clinton being MUCH more positive than mine.
As for Obama, still far too soon to make any judgment. And I've made none on him.

11. Clinton is beloved worldwide for his eight years in office |
|
He did not just quietly retire either. He is one of the biggest fundraisers for charities we have ever seen. The guy brought us prosperity and peace during his tenure. No war, great economy. A great time to be an American.

13. Being likeable does not make a great president |

I'll give you the no war, but the economy? Built on a house of cards, and Allen Greenspan's fraudulent and grossly irresponsible;e activities at the Fed.
You still haven't addressed NAFTA, Telecommunications Act and Glass-Steagall. Were these pieces of legislation that helped make Clinton a "great" president? Were they good for America?

No President is perfect. NAFTA will eventually be overturned as will the Telecommunications Act.

3. Most likely it will be Mittens |
|
He's got the financial acumen (or so people think) that would be necessary for him to win the nomination.
Huckleberry will run again..and so will a bunch of other goofs, but I think Mittens will get the nomination..

it will piss off the fundy base, but they have been hypocritical with republican family values in the past so you may be correct.

10. Would anybody really be surprised if Willard converted to fundagelicalism in order to be nominated? |
|
If McCain can suck up to the Bob Jones university crowd, so can Romney.
Why the Hell not? His relatives can always convert him back to Mormonism after he's dead, so what would he have to lose?

than ANYTHING the G.O.P. will run. Idiot dems who don't vote for his reelection will be cutting off their nose to spite their face. Their glee at spiting Obama will disappear at the first idiotic decision his G.O.P. successor makes.
