Some graffiti to really piss you off (blood pressure warning, and no pun intended)

My company has followed the example of the sports bars and has taken to posting stuff above the urinals in the pilot lounge to give you something to read while...well, you know. Obviously, it's all company related information. The most recent edition included an update on our efforts to provide aid to Haiti. I damn near ruptured my urethra when I saw the following graffiti added with an arrow to the headline:

"Let's help our own first"

Where does one even start responding to that? I would love to get my hands on the idiot that wrote it, if nothing else to ask, "Oh, you mean like we helped the people in New Orleans?" Or, "that's an interesting sentiment, since anytime we as a nation discuss helping our own you start howling 'socialism,' and 'let them pull themselves up by their bootstraps.'"

Given where this was and our work group demographics, I can tell you this about whoever wrote it:

There is a 100% probability he is a male.

There is a 98% probability he is white.

There is a 85 to 90% probability he is a republican.

There is a 60 to 70% probability he worships Beck/Hannity/Limbaugh and watches only Fox "News." (That's pretty much the only thing every running on the TV down here.)

OK, give me a day or two and I'll start calming down.

10. Nice demonstration of biases you got there

I got a neighbor who likes to play loud rap music. What color, gender, party affiliation, and interests should I assume my neighbor has?

11. Before you judge, sport, you might want to read the following:

My work group consists of seniority list pilots for a major airline. They are the only people with access to that rest room. I can tell you what the breakdown of the seniority list is pretty closely. It's about what you see above. African American pilots? we have maybe a couple percent, tops. (The reason for this is that it takes a lot of years of education/training/experience to get to this job. Because the "pipeline" is so long, it will take years for the demographics to match the population in general). Since the vast majority of our list is ex-military (including myself), the political persuasion tends STRONGLY to the right. I know most of these folks, so that's more than a guess.

I could understand your comment had this been in a general access public restroom, but that's not the case. This is in a secure location in the airport, accessible only to this particular group.
