If the Democrats passed healtcare reform with a public option.. |
|
they would win the next election handily. The present Republican advantage would almost disappear overnight. If they only had the cajones...
Democrats that are worried about their re-election should consider the public option. The voters would reward them. Otherwise, it's a toss-up. They may be sent packing.
These times call for courageous and daring leaders. Meekly hiding behind their corporate sponsors is the real gamble. The ball is in their court.

1. Yep. All the Insurance Corporation $$ would be moot. |
|
Just Do It! would be worth so much more than corporation control of pols' coffers.

2. but after Citizens United v FEC, they dont want to bite the hand that feeds them |
|
they are going to try to buy their re-elections in lieu of earning them. Be prepared for a flood of BS campaign ads to start soon which will be incredibly confusing in nature and advocacy

3. I absolutely think you're right. |

Somehow, though, the corporate media have them convinced that the PO is "too far left" for the public. It's not the polls, but the perverted media interpretations of the polls, that feed the chickenshit wing's apparent state of near-panic. And BTW I don't include the Blue Dogs in the Chickenshit wing. They're driven by something else entirely. Corruption & greed. They're as bad as Republicans.
There's no point in worrying about the impending "People United" money dumps either. There's already so much corporate money in the system that a bunch more may have little overall effect. There's only so much TV time you can buy, and there's bound to be some sort of diminishing-effect principle that will impose a natural limit on what they can buy.

4. the "liberal media" would pounce on every horror story (real or not) |
|
as proof of the failure of the "public option" ... forgetting all the other real horror stories going on right now, without a public option, with "for-profit" industries ...
