Toyota's Toyoda Testifies
Watching all the Southern Republicans cheerleading for Mr. Toyoda and their non union workforce brings me to only one conclusion. These pukes are still fighting the good fight they lost in the 1860's. Now is the time for Detroit and the American people to push back and strengthen the American middle class work force that Detroit once championed.

12. You are beginning to become offensive
And your comment is uncalled for. When Japan levels the playing field IN Japan for American cars, you would have an axe to grind,. BUT since they will NOT allow us to build a factory there (unlike the Chinese, your arch enemies) they refuse to give us equal footing regarding safety and engineering comparable to what we allow them to build here, including right hand drive vehicles.

Give us a break. You may try your best to dissuade some of us here but I will not rest until this charade by Toyota is ended.

2. Watched a bit a little earlier, just in time for Mr. Toyoda say that these are "American made cars!"
and just before asked why black box information isn't readily available for download by law enforcement, etc. and why Toyota considers the blackbox information to be "proprietary" and not to be made public until reviewed by Toyota. :wtf:

The whole thing was just weird.

6. Yeah, try to blame the American workers. And the electronics? American made too?
Didn't think so.

4. What you are witnessing is just that.
A well-coordinated effort to revitalize american car companies by destroying the reputation of toyota using the media, congress and anecdotal testimonies. Essentially a witch-hunt.

7. And the decision amongst the Toyota higher up to try and cover this up?
Where does that fit in your conspiracy theory?

8. Bullshit. Toyota makes a dangerous product.
More people have died because of unintended acceleration than were killed in Pintos.

11. Just Explorers or ALL the faulty Firestones?
Remember, Ford wasn't the only manufacturer using that tire, they just used the most of them. GM and Nissan quit using that tire for the same reason.

13. Just curious, but how many people were saved by safety features unique to Toyota?
People have and die in normal highway collisions. Did any features unique to Toyota save lives that would be otherwise lost?

19. A Witchhunt over covering-up, then burying, then lying about the fix
for your product... Toyota is guilty as charged!

Give me a break!

Business majors will be reading about this case about what never to do in a crisis for years.

In all seriousness, their handling of the situation is more of a problem than the fault itself. They blew their chance to make it right from start to finish.
