Over and over again, the much-maligned (and unfairly so) Speaker has stood up for we, the people, on HCR. She's stuck her neck out; continues life-support to the PO; and keeps her Dem house members in line...surely, more onerous, than herding cats.

5. Success is the measure

I'm reminded of when we were doing an annual review of an employee that was quite popular with his peers. The problem was that his productivity level was very poor. One supervisor said, "But he tries so hard". The head manager responded, "But he doesn't succeed".

At some point you're not in elementary school anymore. It's not good enough to just "try your best". You must succeed.
