This event was tremendous fun! I had such a great time!

Afterwards, my friends and I marched with Code Pink and others all the way from the beach to Nancy Pelosi's house. We carried signs and chanted and had a fun, rollicking time the whole way there. It was about a six mile march. At Speaker Pelosi's house we held a big rally and there were some excellent speakers. Good times!

Impeachment actions were held at over 100 locations today. Here is the latest email from the organizer, Brad Newsham:

And I did NOT pay for it... this event cost somewhere between $2,000 and $2,500
I'm guesstimating, and between Jim Reid's postcard donations buckets had almost

I am really happy with how the event came off. It was all organized by one determined, visionary individual. That man deserves more than a pat in the back and a handshake for organizing this. He is being humble in his email, because he did spend thousands of his own, limited money putting it together. He is just a cab driver. And he is my hero today.

4. We ROCKED today

This was so different from the demonstrations in the 60's. No speeches, no bullshit, no Tac Squads, just the message. What a great day!

For what it's worth, the white spot at the bottom of the "O" was my sign, that flagrantly plagiarized the freeway blogger which read "Impeach Bush for blowing the job". Labor and materials happily donated to me from Union members on the job site I am currently assigned to.

36. I guess I would call it a historic event.

It was definitely a cool scene! Everyone looked really happy to be there. Everyone was smiling and having a good time and seemed so happy for such a beautiful day! The band that showed up from Santa Cruz was really excellent, too. They were also obviously enthusiastic if not overjoyed to be there.

We were all a part of something bigger. The hundred smaller events all over the country, and even in Cairo, Egypt and other places I might not have heard about were also a huge happening. This is how it starts. You're quite right - we are the new media. The old media is becoming irrelevant. I am SO happy to have given up on TV years ago.

My friends saw your sign and commented on it. They thought it was hilarious! It's a pretty witty quip, I think. It's very fun and totally funny! Who cares if you plagiarized it from the freeway blogger! hehe I am here to tell you that he surely considers it an honor and that he must be flattered by your imitation. I liked the guy with the big yellow IMPEACH! blimp, too. That was cool.

The sign you made was very funny and totally fun. I remember it. Again, super job on that one!

But we knew our dads/uncles/grandfathers felt compelled to fight for a cause. These kids today have no idea, other than that they don't have to go if they don't enlist.

I HATED the draft. But it brought reality home to everyone, even the rich who were forced to expend the energy to finagle their way out of it. I would never advocate bringing the draft back. In an ideal world, it shouldn't be necessary.

Atlantans Spell IMPEACH with Candles at Intersection

(APN) ATLANTA – About 20 Atlanta activists met at sundown at Freedom Park to spell out the word IMPEACH with an array of candles on a hill at a major intersection, Freedom Parkway and Moreland Avenue.

So for about 90 minutes, motorists and pedestrians coming from at least three different directions got a message: impeach.

The event completed a day of impeachment rallies and marches in Atlanta and indeed nationwide. In Atlanta, activists met to rally at Freedom Park at 11am, and later marched as the impeachment contingent in the annual Inman Park Parade, a local community parade.

Numerous cars honked in support this evening. One man walking by stopped to get a closer look.

"What are you trying to spell out?" he asked.

"Impeach," one activist replied.

"Hell yeah," he said back.

The pink C was filled in by people from Code Pink dressed in pink. The exclamation point was filled in by World Can't Wait wearing orange. The H was filled in by 9/11 truthers wearing black. (The H supposedly resembles the twin towers.) But there were no hard and fast rules on who had to be where, and the color coordinating was loosely followed in some cases.

They provided the orange jumpsuits and hoods for the "!" in SF, and they have a slideshow. It's long, and there are a lot of shots of speakers at the beginning, but then they show other venues. It's beautiful to see young and old faces holding up their signs - they actually got up from their sofas and Playstations and went out to make a statement.

Toward the end of the slideshow there's a shot of an induction photo - an 18 or 19-year-old in dress uniform. I guess we all know what must have happened to him. These pictures break my heart. The inductees are trying so hard to look like they're worthy of wearing the uniform, and we know how the * administration used them as expendable pawns. Bless their hearts, and damn the whole * cabal!
