I'm going to say it, Charlie Rangel should be removed from leadership roles |
|
To do otherwise smacks of the Democratic caucus being hypocritical in matters related to ethics violations.

2. Rangel says it wasn't his fault. Or something. |
|
I mean, I've read this quote fifty times and cannot figure out of he's saying he did NOTHING wrong, or he's saying SOMETHING was done wrong, but HE didn't do it, or if he's saying NOTHING was done wrong. Someone needs to invent a Congresscritterspeak to English translator.
“I don’t want to be critical of the committee, but the common sense dictates that members of Congress should not be held responsible for what could be the wrongdoing of, or mistakes occur, as a staff unless there’s reason to believe the member knew or should have known. And there’s nothing in the record to indicate the latter,” Rangel told reporter (emphasis mine).

34. And this is just the first ruling |
|
of the many ethics charges currently against Rangel.
This was about the least serious of the group.
As the other rulings come down this will only get worse.
He needs to go.

3. If they're going to nail him... |
|
I'd like to see them go after EVERY single scum-sucking politician in DC, regardless of party.
So come on MSM, let's see your fair and balanced coverage of that.

5. I just heard on Randi Rhodes that there were a bunch of other congressmen on that junket |
|
and somehow, Rangel is the only one still facing ethics charges. Do you think the DLC might be trying to push him out to get someone more corporate compliant?

who was found in violation of ethics.
She MUST hold her own caucus to the same standard she demanded of the opposition caucus.

22. Um, no not because they are Republicans. Because its wrong |
|
It's wrong for our elected representatives to abuse their powers at the people's expense. It doesn't suddenly become LESS wrong when a Democrat is guilty.
And no, most people here don't blindly defend all Democrats no matter what they do. When Democrats violate the rules of their office, most here want them to be held accountable.
I suppose you think we all should have been defending Rod Blagoveich too?

When Bush was president, the Iraq and Afghan wars were illegal, immoral, and wrong. Now that Obama is president and has decided to continue these wars, including the recent escalation in Afghanistan, the wars are necessary and vital to our national security.

Charles Rangel was one of three people who made the need for health care reform during the all night Congressional Rules Committee meeting and Thursday's meeting come to life.
He spoke from the heart and was one of the few that made me really cognizant of how important HCR is to minority communities. If anyone saw him talk on this topic in November, you would hopefully realize his value.

It's about ridding Congress of unethical/illegal activities. Not only should Rangel give up the Chair, he should resign his seat. I'm tired of this kind of shit.
