You know what's interesting about people like George Tenet...
Edited on Sun Apr-29-07 09:09 AM by Wetzelbill
Is that he'll come out several years later and talk about how the Iraq war was a bad idea, ill-conceived, etc and expect everybody to act like it's shocking news.

Like him releasing this book doesn't even phase me. It basically just makes me shrug my shoulders and think: "Well yeah, a lot of people knew it was a not just a bad idea, but a catastrophically stupid one over 5 years ago, and even more so with a dipshit like Bush planning it." Where was Tenet when it truly mattered? Saying slam-dunk and receiving a medal, that's where he was.

And I think it says a lot about the media when they act like George Tenet is providing us with some great scoop. "OMG, this war was unnecessary and poorly executed! Better have this guy on all the shows, he has something to say!"

It's like Bill Maher said: "No shit."

on edit:

Also, I'm curious if this guy would have thought to write a critical book about this administration if he didn't feel that his reputation has been hurt. He seems more offended that people blamed him for his "Slam dunk" comment than for the devastation the war has brought upon the troops, their families, our country and our country's reputation in the world. His hurt feelings and bruised ego seem kind of small in comparison, don't you think?

3. Here's the deal: It was an ILLEGAL INVASION even IF it had been "a slam-dunk". I.L.L.E.G.A.L.

4. yeah, what's with these people anyway?
They act like this war was a viable option in the first place. Stupid, immoral, catastrophic and ILLEGAL. You cannot expect that to work out right in the end. It was doomed.

7. The CIA has never been known as upholders of legality.
Even a cursory glance at their history of murder, torture, subversion, and dealings with the most brutal dictatorships and criminals, hardly qualifies for any other appellation than fascist thugs.

5.  I dare you, George Tenet -- I dare you to give back your medal.

Do you have the courage of your convictions to toss that medal into the Potamac or burn it in a public ceremony?

Show us what this is really about.

6. His bruised reputation
at the hands of the double-dealing Busheviks is exactly the reason he wrote the book.
