I am so proud of my Daughter! |
|
Just saw her on TV in the Day of Action protests and my heart is swelling to twice it's normal size.
Guess the fruit does not fall far from the tree after all. She even got a chance to talk personally with Jack O'Connell, the Ca Superintendent if Public Education.
Guess I just wanted a chance to brag.

I often wondered if liberal civil minded parents had kids that were the same, and to my delight I'm finding that is true in at least one case.

|

I remember going on my first protest and getting instructions from my mom on how to ward off a nightstick and deal with arrest. None of which was necessary, I hasten to add. But it was in her time.

Jack O'Connell used to be our local Assemblyman, and would periodically put up a card table on State Street and hold "office hours" there with the public. He was always Mr Clean -- it's harder to know how he's doing from so far away. Anyhow, I'd be interested in what your daughter thought of him, and how he responded to her.

7. She thought he was great, said he actually seemed to listen to her. |
|
It was interesting because it turns out they lived very near each other in San Luis Obispo.
I told her to make sure she sends him an email thanking him for his time.
