Hearst: Clinton drops maiden name for 2008 campaign
http://rawstory.com/news/2007/Hearst_Clinton_drops_maiden_name_for_0429.html

"Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton, D-N.Y., has dropped the use of her maiden name "Rodham" in her bid for the Democratic presidential nomination," Hearst Newspapers will report in Monday papers in advance excerpts acquired by RAW STORY. Excerpts follow.

Clinton identifies herself as "Hillary Clinton" in her campaign press releases and on her campaign website. The lone mention of her maiden name is in a campaign biography that says "Hillary's father, Hugh Rodham, was the son of a factory worker from Scranton, Pa."

She continues to use "Hillary Rodham Clinton" in her New York-focused press releases and in the Senate.

1. Why is this even news?
I mean really, with everything going on in the world, who cares whether she uses her maiden name or not? I think most of us are more interested in where she (and every other declared candidate) stand on the issues.

I'm really surprised at Raw Story for reporting something so shallow as this.
