Did Tenet Ever Consider Giving Back His Medal of Freedom??
He was so outraged he waited years to set the record straight.

And only when he had a book to hawk.

He still have credibility issues.

1. His excuse is he got it for the CIA's work in Afghanistan
So he didn't feel any need to rebuff or return it.

2. My thoughts exactly.
While his interview tonite on 60 Minutes did give him more credibility to me, I would have been more sympathetic if he had walked away from the fiasco that surrounded the aftermath of 9/11 and turned down the phony medal.

His outrage at the administration was nice to hear but too little and too late.

4. He could ... throw it over the White House fence.
Of course, swiftboating would follow.

5. Aside from 'protecting' Bush and Cheney ... What He COULD HAVE DONE
Edited on Mon Apr-30-07 09:37 AM by Blackhatjack
Let's see what he 'could have done' ....

He could have resigned immediately, and received no medal, and testified fully before Congress as to the truth.

OR He could have resigned after receiving his medal, made a public display of giving his medal to Valerie Wilson for her service to her country, and testified fully before Congress.

OR He could have had an attack of 'conscience', given his medal to Valerie Plame, testified fully to Congress, and announced that all profits from his book would be donated to the families of soldiers killed in Iraq.

Just a few of the things Tenet could have done ...

INSTEAD --he waited 3 yrs to open his mouth, wrote a book for personal gain which he is now hawking, and is keeping his medal of freedom. Sounds like someone got paid off to protect this Administration.
