Marcy Kaptur is anti-abortion (or "pro-life"). I wonder why people are surpised by that?

"Though generally reckoned as a liberal-to-progressive Democrat, Kaptur holds moderately conservative views on abortion. In January 2007, she was the only member of the Congressional Progressive Caucus to vote against funding for stem-cell research.

Kaptur has expressed support for the Stupak-Pitts Amendment, an amendment to America's Affordable Health Choices Act of 2009."

Why do people have to be progressive or conservative on EVERY issue?

I ask, because people in the Stupak "Dirty Dozen" thread had a hard time believing she was one of them.

1. Why can people not be anti-abortion (pro-life) AND pro-choice
Why do they feel that their beliefs allows them to decide for others.... When someone satisfactorily answers that, I can try to answer the progressive v conservative question...
