Obama's approval 'plunging'? Hardly |
|
Edited on Wed Mar-10-10 10:53 PM by LuckyTheDog
Obama's approval rating is actually a bit better than Reagan's was at this point in his presidency. http://www.gallup.com/poll/124922/Presidential-Approval-Center.aspx

4. After investigating, the OP is SPIN. Look closer. That poll is for 1 month and it DROPPED 1%. |

Look at the links below it and the numbers are dropping dramatically. Nothing "un-Democrat" about that. It's called getting real and admitting there is a problem! http://www.gallup.com/poll/126329/Age-Groups-Differ-Obama-Bush-Clinton.aspx

8. You can't really use the inauguration as a standard--75% approval? |
|
The OP is a little over the top, but so is your post. That 75 percent standard is not realistic in the divided country that we have.
In the end, I imagine it will all come down to jobs.

...it's fucking plunging here. "... a bit better than reagan's..." That ain't saying much. Reagan was a lying cheating bastard. And Obama's is just a bit better?
Mr. President, I campaigned hard for you, but you are letting me down. And I'd do it again, only because McCain was like Reagan.
Not that I really matter. It is our country that is being ripped apart and you have the power to save it. Use it, gawd damn it, use the power that the people gave to you. Quit pussy-footing around and bring the changes. Win or loose, give it your best shot. Get the fuck out of the wars, get us alternative fuels and get us a good decent health care system and bring back jobs. Anything less and you are a failure. Little better than Reagan's.

5. To be fair, Reagan also had a very rough first year |
|
and he didn't have such a hostile media environment, iirc.

6. seems similar to Clinton and Carter as well |
|
which probably tells you that his popularity at this point in his presidency tells you nothing about how popular he will be come 2012 :)

7. The approval rating doesn't really count until we see how the health insurance bill goes. |
|
I expect the results of the bill vote will seal Obama's fate, one way or the other.
