Robert Kennedy Jr: Rove "literally started spitting at them" (Crow & David)

http://nymag.com/news/intelligencer/31284/

<snip>

According to Robert Kennedy Jr., Karl Rove spat more than harsh words at Sheryl Crow and Laurie David over global warming at the White House Correspondents’ dinner. Rove “literally started spitting at them,” says Kennedy, who attended with Crow and David. The women discussed global warming, “in a very civil and gentle and friendly and charming way, and he was as rude and arrogant as a person could be, and turned his back on them and walked away.” He adds, “It was a very strange thing to watch, and a sad thing to think the government is being run by, you know, somebody like that.”

1. I'd say I was shocked...
but really I'm just bone weary of these assholes.

Nothing they do is all that surprising anymore...how sad it is to come to expect this type of behavior...and I can't even say "from our elected officials" because Rove wasn't elected by anyone.

10. Rove needs to get a life.
Like so many powerful repubs, Rove seems consumed with the power game. He hasn't a clue about the true meaning of life. We are all paying for this kind of mentality in this new repub party.

...but at what point did RFK Jr. come to the rescue of the two women?

I have no regard for Rove but I seriously doubt that he "literally started spitting" on Sheryl Crow and Laurie David. If he had we would have heard a lot more about it than now, over a week later.

15. The politically smart handling...
of a situation like this is a no-brainer and would simply be to listen, smile, and then pay some cursory lip service to the global warming issue followed by a photo op with Crow and David.

When someone like Karl isn't thinking well on his feet it's a clear indication of high stress levels. I'd guess the source of the stress is a withholding of the normal periodic approval Karl looks for to reaffirm he's still Chimpy's right hand man. This would be a sure way to stress Karl into poor decision making and mishandling of routine situations.

28. The source of his stress is the fact that he's skating on increasingly
thin ice (pardon the pun here, in view of the subject Crow and David wanted to discuss with him). Consider the increasingly dicey legal jeopardy he's in now. He's facing lots more questions - that he is positively NOT USED TO having to face, much less have to answer. That free ride stuff is OVER. There are people asking a lot of uncomfortable questions now who won't go away and won't be intimidated by his much-vaunted PR and reputation as a really scary dude whom you don't dare cross (especially when you know who his best friend is). He's skating on thinner and thinner ice, and he knows it.

Besides that, there's the pile-on factor at work here now, too, for the first time in years. To get where kkkarl rove is, through the mazes and rats' nests and roaring rapids of the political world to get to the height of heights where he is now, he's had to (and in most cases ENJOYED IMMENSELY) step on a lot of toes, screw a lot of people, lie about, push rumors about, and ruin many more. And intimidate the rest to near death. NO ONE was safe. EVERYONE was fair game. Just ask john mccain. Just ask Valerie Plame Wilson. Don't forget the late Ann Richards and what he masterminded against her. There are many people cowed because he's been perceived, up til now, as being too big, too powerful, too influential, too untouchable. JUST FUCKING INVINCIBLE. You HAD to be nice to him regardless how you really felt about him. You didn't dare mess with kkkarl rove and you always wanted to be on his good side. Or else. And that shit works as long as you remain invincible, at least in the public perception. That perception is changing. BIGTIME. NONE of these Goliaths looks all that rough and tough and big and intimidating anymore. We know too much. We're learning more every day. We're asking more questions - and with subpoena power now. And he knows that, too.

And just imagine all those people in kkkarl's past who he's burned. Some of 'em, probably most of 'em, haven't forgotten that. Some of 'em may want revenge. They haven't been able to do anything about it til now, and certainly they figured they wouldn't get anywhere because he was untouchable. But he's damaged goods now. He knows it, and they know it. EVERYBODY knows it.

35. I don't doubt that some of Karl's stress traces to potential legal trouble...
... I just don't see him really sweating unless he senses the criminals he answers to are beginning to view him as a liability. He's watched these people essentially tell Gonzales, "You're on your own," and I'm inclined to believe it's his worry over receiving this same message (sink or swim, Turdblossom) from these same people that's got him so stressed. I don't recall him showing signs of this kind of undue stress during Fitzgerald's probe, even after being called to testify for a fifth time. Things were different then, I know, but I still think it's the potential loss of support from the cabal of criminals he serves that has him so worried.

As things get worse and worse for this administration, I fear they're going to do something huge and horrible. Sure hope I'm wrong about that.

17. rove's losing it, just shows the type of person he is.
he has always believed that he is immune to any type of criticism what so ever. He has to believe the is entitled to do anything he wants and his actions show it....I have asked this question...over and over and no one knows....why does this piece of turd(blossom) have secret service protection. If you read the rules and regulations for this only the present and past president and vice president, their immediate families and the speaker of the house and senate (who are in line for the presidency) have it. And some candidates for president I think close to election etc. So again I ask why does rove have secret service protection. It is bad enough that we pay his salary while he screws the American public trying to get more corrupt republicans elected, why must we pay for this illegal protection.

You'd have thought that the new Speaker of the House was requesting gold-plated dishes when she received use of a plane to fly between DC and her home state of California.

Yet we never hear a word about Karl Rove's secret service protection. Guess it must have been overlooked by the Republicans in Congress.

as espoused by these nimnos and the Media. They will slice and dice and GUT each other if given half the chance. Animals have more loyalty.

Once there is blood in the water, watch them all Eat each other. It's how it always ends.

I believe the Press and Kennedy Jr were too STUNNED by the Old Coot singing Vaudville songs and doing Spiro Agnew imitations to do anything about helping Crow and pal. I know I was. Possibly the WORST act in History, even his Nixon, which might have been SO APPROPRIATE given Bush sitting there, fell flat.

As for Rove spitting, I wonder how much actual Rove SPIT would bring on EBAY.. probably way less than a 55 gallon of Elvis Sweat, but more than a grilled cheese Jesus :)

Y'know, it might be be worth it for someone, to maybe spend a few years in a fed pen, and be the one guy that Kicked his Ass in Public. The villagers would be throwing flowers at them when they got out :)
