1. She could "make it happen." |
|
I don't know what that means, but that's what I keep getting whenever I ask the people who blame Obama for everything what he could specifically do to pass a public option.

She can't. What it means is she is the designated fall guy for voter ire |
|
The good ol (white) boys' club cannot be expected to own up to their part in the dysfunctional Congress.

4. A sizeable portion of DU has no idea how the legislative branch works.... |
|
And another large portion has grossly unrealistic expections as to what is possible.
I know that you know that, but others need to understand.

5. It is called "agreement" and its such a rare word its not surprising you aren't familiar with it. |
|
It comes from the quaint notion that people will do what they tell you they will do.

6. A companion reconciliation bill which only requires 51 votes in the Senate. |
|
It is a political kamikaze mission which irreparably harms Senate precedent.
But it can be done if a majority thinks it's worth it.

I believe that Reconciliation bills have to start in the house since they are all budget related.

After the House passes the original Senate bill, they then pass the reconciliation bill with fixes. Thus, it is her choice to include the PO in it or not.
