CNN healthcare Poll - Pass it now, Start over, Drop it.
I thought "Pass it now", would only get 38%. That was what McConnell wants us to believe.

What action should Congress take on health care legislation?

1. Wow - that is impressive
If even a CNN poll is coming out in favor of the health insurance revision bill maybe it will happen.

I am torn. It is not what I wanted to get, but it is better than what we have now and opens the door to future improvements. And if it does not pass, the Republicans will use the failure of the Democratically controlled Congress and of Obama to wedge their way back into power. At this point I think I want it to pass but I cannot be completely happy about what we are getting.

3. Really, the official polls besides Rasmussen show it to be close
between those that approve (want it passed) and those that disapprove (start over or drop it). Gallup was 45% for, 48% against.

24. I know about the cat hair... *sigh*
But that's nothing compared to when one in particular knocks my netbook on the floor. x(

Cats are much more curious than dogs. My previous cat was fascinated with the keyboard. I lived in fear that she'd post on DU... ;)

5. "Pass it" and reap the whirlwind.
The irony for Democrats: It's better to pass this 'capitulation, masquerading as reform' than it is to let it die - die the death it so rightly deserves. Why? Because failure to pass it is to demonstrate how utterly feckless and incompetent they are. To have commanding majorities in congress and to hold the White House, and yet this is the best major legislation they can manage? I'm embarrassed to have ever worn a blue pair of fucking socks let alone ever call myself a fucking Democrat. Does anyone else recognize how monumentally they have failed?

7. What is odd, is that in 60 years time, in this country,
ain't nobody done any better.

Now, I think what that says is that your post is a bunch of fail.

13. "ain't nobody done any better". . . really

"ain't nobody done any better" is the expression you use, and then call another post a "bunch of fail"? If you're joking it isn't funny, and if you're serious, then it's laughable.

"ain't nobody done any better" that should be Pelosi's new campaign slogan.

6. A double choice from me ...
Drop it and then start over. Go for single payer which will actually help and have some meaning for the people who most need it. And not privatized. Privatization has never saved money and leaves programs open for all kinds of abuse.

16. Alright ...
I was posting about what I would like to see happen not necessarily what I thought would happen. It is still what I want to happen, because as I said, what they are passing is not worth very much.

I don't think the President did every thing possible to get a good bill for us, and I don't think he ever will. He has let us down in many areas. I remind you of Grayson's Medicare for all and the fact that it came with about 40 names in two days despite the fact that he does not have the prestige or clout of the Presidency to bring to the table the way Obama does.

The only expectation I had for Obama was that he would stand on the issues he campaigned on. I hoped that he had a plan to bring his campaign promises about and that he would be a vigorous advocate for his base and others who are poor and middle class. That is not too much to ask of your President. I'm sorry that you think it is.

I have been interested in politics since I was 15. I joined Young Democrats then and several anti war actions as well. You could have called me a "radical" or an "outside agitator," I guess. I am 62 years old now, so I have seen Presidents come and go. Obama is not the worst, but he is not the best either. I think we deserve more than he has given us. It wouldn't take much, but it just seems that his commitment is not to his base but more to others.

Great post and I certainly agree with you. What you look for in a president is one of the big reasons that I supported John Edwards (though Dennis Kucinich is always my first choice... ;) ). Despite his personal dishonesty, his message was a sound one and it's sad that we're missing his voice. :-(
