Mexican Border
When President Obama starts to bring home troops from Iraq and Afghanistan, do our laws allow for these troops to be placed at our borders?

Legalization of some drugs will help, but some of the harder stuff will still be a problem.

I never even saw a drug, even marijuana. Aches and pains and fear of narcotic pain killers has me oh so tempted to try it if I knew where to find it. If what I hear is true, the most dangerous thing about it is to be caught with it.

4. It's sad that posse comitatus has to be pointed out periodically.
It says a lot about how little is being taught about government in our schools these days.

6. Or how eroded the rule of law has become here, i.e, The New Normal

5. THAT's the thing I was thinking about..
This came up a few years ago and it was mentioned a lot then.

Some of the diehards in this country will never legalize drugs. I wonder if the drug companies just don't want competition.

7. Does your state have any sort of medical marijuana laws?
If not, could you possibly move to one?

It may be worth it.

8. Raygun tried that with tragic results
A young man was tending his family's herd of goats. He was shooting at a rabbit. Unknown to him he was under surveillance by 3 U.S. Marines. I guess they didn't put enough of their brains back into their jar heads. The kid couldn't even see them but the Marines decided he was a threat and they took him out. BTW he was one of the American citizens whose freedom they are supposed to protect.

My solution: Set up a legal structure for all drugs used to get high. The government to make buys of ray coca leave and poppy direct from the farmers.Process it in labs and sell the drugs 20% above cost in Government owned drug stores. Use the profits to fund treatment centers.

Take the profit out of the drug trade and those bozos in Mexico would have little or no power. This would also put a real kink in the Taliban.

The upside for society would be an enormous decrease in police spending at Federal and local levels, a decrease in jail and prison populations and perhaps a decrease in petty thefts and burglaries that plague many home owners resulting in lower home owner insurance rates.

Prohibition only aggravates the problem.
