I Would Like To COMMEND DK! He Made The Correct Decision! And His Comments Are ALL CLASS!
His comments regarding his changing his mind are quite thoughtful. Thanks DK, you made your point and I commend you for your courage in taking a stand, you took a lot of heat, but ultimately you showed yourself to be reasonable and thoughtful and you put the country's best inerests ahead of your own personal desires. And these words of yours are classy and thoughtful:

But with health care, Kucinich said, more is at stake--including perhaps the country's ability to do anything.

"I left with a real sense of compassion for our president and what he's going through," Kucinich said. "We have to be compassionate towards those who are called upon to make decisions for this nation. It's not an easy burden that he has taken up."

"One of the things that has bothered me," Kucinich added, "has been the attempt to delegitimatize his presidency. That hurts the nation when that happens. He was elected...this is a defining moment for whether or not we'll have any opportunity to move off square one on the issue of health care.... I think it's important that--we have to be very careful that the potential of President Obama's presidency not be destroyed by this debate."

Kucinich insisted that he was given no assurance that Obama would push for a public option after the bill passes, and said that he was offered no favors in exchange for his support.

1. I concur
I was surprised to hear of his change in position last night and eager to hear his conference this morning.

His comments were very thoughtful, focused, and well articulated.

2. He Actually Went Somewhere I Didn't Expect
It's a terrific frame, but I also think it's sincere. He's also 100% right.

3. Truthfully, I was expecting a tirade against the Democratic Party -
- I love to be proved wrong this way.

I'll leave it at that.

8. He made a difficult decision that reaches beyond the HCR issue.
He flat out said that this was a bad bill, that there are dozens of loopholes the insurance companies will exploit, and that it will hardly help anyone. At the same time, killing the bill would damage Obama so much that the rest of his agenda - particularly in ending the wars - would be in jeopardy so while he may be voting for this bill, that does not mean he supports it. He supports the president and the Democratic Party.

There's a difference.

11. I noticed he changed his terminology to their terminology.
That's code to me that he got his arm twisted and got an offer he couldn't refuse. In time we will get the truth.
