without having to change much. they have to accept all comers and can't kick people out when they get sick, but is there anything in there saying they can't jack up the price for said people?

(if I may mix a metaphor), kept the PO out of it, expanded Medicare while simultaneously taking Medicare money away, and never let single-payer get mentioned, while giving the insurance industry 30 million new customers.
The industry got its money's worth.

of. They even got the baggers to show up and do a little spitting and name calling. What more do you expect them to do? I don't think you can ask them to return "contributions" after such a tremendous effort. ;)
Now the health insurance companies may want to send a few lobbyists to the next meeting of the Blue Dog coalition. Of the 54 official Blue Dogs, 24 voted against the bill and 30 voted for it. Some of those guys may owe a refund. :)
