11. They're not going to stop until someone gets hurt or worse.
This is what happens when the GOP leadership encourages this stuff. It's like Frankenstein's monster. They helped create this mess, and now the inmates have taken over the assylum.

2. Borax? Powdered sugar?
These idiots don't have access to weaponized anthrax. But the point of terrorism is to frighten. You don't need the real stuff to do that.

4. Time to throw some asses in jail
A message needs to be sent -- enough of this bullshit and get tough.

Jesus Christ -- the GOP jailed far more people during the 2008 convention for way more petty reasons than these serious threats.

9. Thank God we still have Bush's massive NSA 'anti-terror' security apparatus in place.
I mean, they can read everyone's email, monitor everyone's phone calls, pretty much do whatever they want in the name of fighting "terror". So, assuming that is what they're actually doing with those extra-Constitutional abilities, it should be a piece of cake to figure out who did this.

...right?

15. Are they not as careful in a congressman's field office as they are
in DC? It's very difficult to get a package or letter to any congressional office in DC, and it takes WEEKS to get it delivered if it ever gets delivered at all. I know my Rep. & Sens all say use email because of the horrible delays. I'm susrprised that a similar security procedure isn't in place for their other offices too.

Imagine what the person felt who saw the "white powder." This has happened before, and that person has to wonder if he or she is dead.

17. I heard someone sent Eric Cantor
...a 55-gallon drum of plutonium. It arrived at his underground headquaters, yesterday or today...maybe.

And that's nothing, Newt Gingrinch's dog kennel was destroyed by a liberal meteor!

So it's "both sides doing it." :sarcasm:

30. IMHO any FBI "investigation" will be a total whitewash with zero perps caught
until and unless someone is killed. Then they won't be able to fake it. They will actually have to investigate.

29. I'm not sure if it treason,
but it sure does look like domestic terrorism to me, and it's a federal crime to threaten a member of Congress.

31. He has received swastikas more than once. I think he choses not to publicize it too much Links:

Weiner targeted for health care advocacy

March 24, 2010

WASHINGTON (JTA) -- A Jewish congressman who figured prominently in passing the health care reform bill received anti-Semitic notes during the final days of passage.

U.S. Rep. Anthony Weiner (D-N.Y.) was among the most visible and outspoken proponents of the legislation, which the Congress approved Sunday.

Some opponents of the bill affiliated with the Tea Party movement spent last weekend jeering its most prominent advocates; at times the jeers devolved into epithets hurled at African-American and gay members.

Weiner's office confirmed receiving anti-Semitic notes, including one signed with a swastika. Another addressed Weiner as "Shlomo."

http://www.jta.org/news/article/2010/03/23/1011330/weiner-targeted-for-health-care-advocacy

I'm not sure why this is never mentioned when they talk about the recent attacks other than the fact that antisemetic sentiment in the USA is often covered up so as to not flame the fires of hatred.

Here's something from 4 years ago on Weiner's website:

WEINER DECRIES EXPLOSION OF SWASTIKAS

Brooklyn, N.Y. - Early this morning, eleven swastikas were discovered in the Brooklyn neighborhoods of Brighton Beach, Manhattan Beach, and Gravesend. At least six other swastikas have been found in Brooklyn this month. Rep. Anthony Weiner (D-Queens & Brooklyn), a member of the House Judiciary Committee who released a study earlier this year showing a spike of hate crimes in the City, released the following statement:

“Whether acts of malice or just plain stupidity, today’s discovery of swastikas in Brighton Beach, Manhattan Beach, and Gravesend is deeply troubling. These are just the latest in what looks like an emerging trend which have rattled these close knit, hard working communities."

“But hate and anti-Semitism find no home in Brighton Beach, Manhattan Beach or Gravesend. The perpetrators of these despicable acts will be brought to justice.”

This morning’s incidents come on the heels of at least six others this month, all in Brooklyn.

Earlier this year, Rep. Weiner released a study showing a spike in hate crimes in New York City. According to the Weiner study, 57 anti-Semitic incidents occurred in New York City over the last quarter of 2003, the highest three month total in three years, and the second highest since 1997.
