Tea Party Convention contributor from Brentwood sues movement's leader
Internal strife continues to rile the group that
hosted the National Tea Party Convention, headlined
by Sarah Palin, almost two months after the event
came to Nashville.

A lawsuit filed last week in Williamson County by
Brentwood-based conservative Bill Hemrick, the
founder of Upper Deck sports cards, accuses Tea
Party Nation leader Judson Phillips of backing out of
a partnership deal and spreading defamatory
comments about him.

The lawsuit, first reported by FoxNews.com,
stemmed from Hemrick's lending the group $25,000
to secure the former Alaska governor as a keynote
speaker at the convention, which took place at
Gaylord Opryland Resort & Convention Center in
February.

According to Hemrick's attorney, his client gave the
loan to establish a long-term relationship with
Phillips' Tea Party Nation.
