Holy SHIT, the freeps HATE McCain for his immigration stance, calling him "McAmnesty" and "Juan McCain."

This is either a suicidal career move for Palin or she's just...not...thinking (could that be POSSIBLE?)

The freep thread:

McCain and Palin: Reunited and Feeling Good ("I support his position on immigration")
Fox News ^ | 2010-03-27

Posted on Tuesday, March 30, 2010 8:46:15 AM by rabscuttle385

(snip)

VAN SUSTEREN: Governor Palin, if you were vice president today, what would you be telling a President McCain about what to do about immigration, if anything?

PALIN: I support his position on immigration. It all comes down to securing the border. And he who has actually proposed some solutions, the Obama administration does not want to listen to Senator McCain or any other Republican, and that, of course, leads to a greater problem that we have in Washington, D.C. And it's that lack of the new administration's ability and enthusiasm for listening to those on the other side of the aisle who have some good solutions that they want considered.

Anybody who is blathering about how her Mccain support is just about her loyalty to Mccain and she should be given a pass....needs to reevaluate themselves after telling the world she supports that RINO on immigration.

1. Anyone who runs against Sarah (either in primary or general elections) won't lack for material

The woman seems determined to give her opponents no shortage of material (printed or audio) to use against her if she ever runs for office again.

5. Her shelf life as a candidate is extremely abbreviated
While I have little faith in our somnambulant bulldogs of the Fourth Estate to delve too deeply into the positions or opinions of one of their darlings, Mrs. Palin is perfectly capable of screwing up even the softest of softball questions. When the simple question of naming a newspaper she reads proves as totally baffling as it did from Katie Couric, you know that Mrs. Palin is far too calculating* for her own good: “If I say I read the New York Times or the Washington Post, my base will disown me. If I say I read the Anchorage Daily News, I’ll come off as too provincial. Better just say I read all the newspapers.”

She was on the national stage for two months in 2008, and provided enough fodder for comment for another year and a half. If she decides to run for the 2012 campaign, she’s going to have to be out there for 20-24 months, well past her shelf life. If her opponents on the Republican side don’t clobber her, she will be such damaged goods that nobody beyond her swooning base will consider her. Remember that she won the Alaska governorship in a three-way race. One on one, Barack Obama will grind her into tasty little moose burgers.

*Okay, and maybe there wasn’t a calculation and she’s simply bone stupid. The result is the same, either way.

4. I've said it before. HCR was nothing compared to Immigration Reform.
That is going to seperate the men from the boys. I can't wait to see how Obama handles that one. If he pulls it off he'll top the list of Greats and it will change this country forever.

and the baggers will explode.

9. Are you serious?
It's not like McCain will keep any previous position on anything he supported before... he'll just go whichever way the wind blows.
