Shrum to Buchanan: are you still against the Civil Rights Act?
They were all talking about Jews, Nazis, the Watts riots, Barney Frank. I was thinking, will someone point out who Pat Buchanan is?

Then Buchanan said something about the Civil Rights Act, and Shrum says, "are you still against it?"

Scarborough groans.

10. Agreed. Civil doesn't work with these people.
We need to fight fire with fire, and we need to do so all throughout the media.

11. And to sponsor or be the indy media.
This really is war now. Not the shooting kind but a more gentle, feel good, assault on public perception that is even more insidious because it erodes our democracy invisibly day by day. :grr:

2. This country is going backwards right before our eyes...
Anyone that thinks racism is dead is damn fool. The covers have just been thrown off.

5. That is the problem and congress can fix.
But instead they recently voted to let companies like AOL Comcast etc expand their holdings. They are buying up all kinds of media and making it republicans. I think there should be a law where a news media has to publish both sides of a story. AND they have to tell the truth. If they lie and on purpose, two warnings and their license pulled.

7. Our Congress is pretty much owned by the same interests.
They won't fix it.

I know I sound like the "we're all gonna die" cartoon doggie but we have to fix this if we can through alternate networks because we don't own our own elections any more.

6. Notice ol' Pat didn't provide an answer.
So I'm fairly sure that his answer is "yes".
