1. I wish I could say the same
but with all this going backwards, right wing bullshit with nuclear energy and offshore drilling (not to mention the obvious disappointment with the health insurance bailout) I wonder what happened to that guy. :evilfrown:

4. I don't even recognize him. It's mostly my fault by putting all my progressive "hopes"
into what I wanted to believe would be President Obama's policies. At the tender young age of 51, I didn't think I could fool myself into believing "a dream." No fool like an old fool.

6. You're no fool. We ALL wanted desperately to believe in that dream after eight years of
hell with that corrupt fascist election stealing regime. If we couldn't believe in better days ahead we would have lost every shred of hope for our Country and our futures. Now we're faced with a grim reality, and the only fools left are the ones who insist on fooling themselves.

7. Precisely
In the General Election, he was by far the best choice. Was he the best candidate to go with in the primaries (well, I don't know, but he won them). I too, put great expectations upon him and he has not completely failed those, but those were my expectations and I knew that he was far more conservative than I really wanted (those of us out to the left of DK, which in my world is the "real" conservatives not the BS made up by the media to pigeon hole groups) , but you vote & takes your chances to some degree.

I think he's a great guy and we could have done far, far, far worse....

10. Sarkozy is probably a step in that direction.
He's certainly no Berlusconi, but definitely to the right of his predecessor.
