1. 1 injured in El Centro - and I-8 closed there |
|
Edited on Mon Apr-05-10 01:28 AM by Liberty Belle
Imperial Valley Press reports 1 in 4 windows on Main Street in El Centro have been broken. One injured by a falling sign.
Some minor damage to 2 fire stations in San Diego's East County.
Oh and the quake's epicenter was under a dormant volcano....or could the quake activity signal upcoming volcanic activity too? Need a volcanologist to interview!
We have a lot of details at www.eastcountymagazine.org, including some updates thanks to Nadin plus material from lots of other sources and our own contacts.
Cal-Tech says 5% chance we may see a bigger quake in the next few days, so not sure the worst is over yet folks.

|
have dropped by now to bellow 1.
But one to two 6.0 yep, that is possible.
By the way, I no longer work with the Red Cross, haven't for a decade or more.
:-)
I just know what I am looking at.
(And can translate too)
By the way channel seven used some of it and the AP wire is pretty good, came out about thirty minutes ago. Oh by now forty.

6. LA Times got into the town at the epicenter: |
|
http://www.latimes.com/news/nationworld/nation/la-me-guadalupe5-2010apr05,0,3293103.story Thankful damage in Guadalupe Victoria doesn't sound too bad. Figures the LA Times would get there first and the UT hasn't bothered.

8. You should see CNN explaining why this is not |
|
that 24\7 they were praying for.
There is also more to this, they are still emphasizing how we didn't have that much damage on the US Side... REALLY... but damage in Mexicali was very serious.
BULLSHIT, they are closer to the epicenter. The damage is consistent to oh Northridge.
Two dead, 100 injured (realize this ranges from very small injuries to a few bad ones)
