Is Michael Steele A Double Agent?
A dem in disguise? He's, practically singlehandedly, bankrupting the RNC, causing such friction inside the organization that it's fracturing, all the while daring them to fire him which he will attribute to racism. I'll say this for the guy, he's doing a better job of giving the Cons heartburn than the practically invisible DNC.

3. No, they hate him.

They just don't want to be called racists, but instead what do they do? Form basically another party just so they don't have to fire him, but marginalize him which in my opinion proves the point more than firing him would.

8. So Far There Are 2 Alternatives To The RNC
The Teabags as supported by Palin, Bachman and DeMint and American Crossroads with Gillespie and Rove. How many will there be by the end of the year?

5. They Have To 'Like" Him, They Picked Him
And you know how they are genetically incapable of admitting a mistake.

4. And yet, they continue to hand the reins to media talking heads.

6. He's just a stooge, that's all
How many African-Americans could you find, really, who would let themselves be the head of the RNC? The same stupidity that let him think he was anything other than a figurehead is what told him it was OK to go to that bondage club.

He'll soon be replaced by a teabagger who is way too smart to display such simple foolishness.

10. He's a symptom of the split between the party's out of touch owners and it's racist base.
Edited on Mon Apr-05-10 06:28 PM by Marr
The big money interests that own the party couldn't care less about his skin color-- they just saw a black guy win the presidency and said, "hey- we need one, too". But they never even stopped to consider how it might play with their idiot base, because they've always just lined up and done as ordered in the past.

The base despised Steele from the beginning, well before he'd proved himself to be the buffoon his is. They don't like him because he's black, and nothing he could've done would've changed their mind. Being an outright idiot certainly hasn't helped.

11. Why did Steele pretend to be a Democrat?

"When Michael Steele ran for Maryland's open US Senate in 2006, his backers hired 300 mostly poor African Americans from Philadelphia -- most if not all of them unemployed, many of them homeless -- fed them donuts and then packed the crew onto Trailways buses for an Election Day trip that would make a bit of political history.

The buses, which were draped in banners for Steele and then-Maryland Governor Robert Ehrlich, headed across the state line into Maryland, where the day laborers were dispatched to predominantly African-American neighborhoods of the city of Baltimore and populous Prince George's County.

They spent Election Day handing out glossy fliers headlined "Democratic Sample Ballot" or "Official Voter Guide." The fliers employed the phrase "Ehrlich-Steele Democrats." And they featured images of prominent African Americans, such as former Democratic congressman and NAACP leader Kweisi Mfume, above the words: "These are our choices."
