'We investigated ourselves and we found that we did nothing wrong.'
Even though we lied about it, we really didn't do anything wrong. It's the jounalists own fault they got themselves killed. They shouldn't have been taking pictures with an RPG. And we can't help it if rescuers are so stupid they got themselves killed trying to save the wounded.

"Let me engage..."

"Can I shoot?"

"C'mon, let us shoot!"

"Oh yeah! Look at that, right through the windshield! Ha-ha!"

"They just drove over a body."

"Yeah. Ha-ha!"

1. what's really sick
is that a lot of people who would have been very critical of this video if it had been released under the Bush administration are giving it a pass under Obama. It is disgusting and sad.

5. I think the rush to defend it is due to the current administration.
It occurred in 2007, but is made known in 2010. It will be up to the Obama Administration and the Pentagon under Obama to investigate and prosecute. Knowing that so many military investigations are white washes, some people are attempting to head off criticisms when no actions are taken.

3. There was that messy business in My Lai 4. It sounded real bad for a while
but then Colin Powell investigated it and discovered the truth that nothing happened, and that indeed nothing could have happened since relations between the US Army and the population of Quang Ngai Province were "excellent".

Oh yes, the Army always gets to the bottom of things, always, and finds out that there's nothing down there.
