'You've got to make the fellow scared to come out of his house'
'You've got to make the fellow scared to come out of his house'
Dave Weigel

Last night in Jupiter, Fla., GOP congressional candidate Allen West told "tea party" activists that they needed to do more to get accountability from Rep. Ron Klein (D-Fla.).

"Let me tell you what you've got to do," said West, a retired lieutenant colonel. "You've got to make the fellow scared to come out of his house. That's the only way that you're going to win. That's the only way you're going to get these people's attention."

Local Democrats, who obtained a video of the speech, are piling on West for the remarks -- one in a string of combative statements he's made about Democrats. "West and his mentor Sarah Palin are shamefully stoking violent language and symbolism that threatens the safety of our leaders and public officials," Broward County Democratic Chair Mitch Ceasar said in a statement. (Palin has endorsed West.) "The hard working people of South Florida know that inciting people with extreme and violent language sometimes leads to far more violent and monstrous acts."

1. Teabaggers = GOP Brownshirts.
Won't be long before all this talk turns to violent action. At which time, the instigators like West and Palin will be climbing over each other in their eagerness to let the world know how much they "deplore" the actions of "a few." All the while nodding and winking to their base.

12. Wrong. The ONLY way to deal with bullies is to give them back the same.
If they insist on calling out liberals, trying to intimidate them with threats of violence, we need to see THEM suffer the same.

Only problem with that theory is that liberals will NOT follow up on such things, while the teabagger brownshirts will.

Maybe we could hire blackwater thugs to do the job - they'll work for anybody.

13. I suspect there'd be a lot of Democrats shot in front of West's home
These people aren't playing. They need to be arrested, tried and imprisoned for inciting violence.

8. That fits the definition of terrorism.
And directed against a Congressman, it is all the more illegal. When can we expect West to be arrested?

;-)

9. The Dems not only need to pile on
but it's time for the right to follow suit and start having a goddamn spine to call this crap out. It's also time to start bringing legal charges against people like West. And yes, that includes some senators/congressmen and the rest of the right's 'leadership' who are participating in this sort of abuse of power.
